SMS Messages
Make sure that you have subscribed to and activated SMS services with your wireless
service provider. To send SMS to an e-mail address, you must also enter the SMS Email
Center number on the SMS Preferences screen (under the Options menu).
Creating and sending a message
1. Make sure wireless mode is on. See page 3 for details.
2. Press SMS Messages .
3. Press Menu and select New (/ N).
4. Use the scroll buttons to choose the address type and press Space .
5. Type the mobile phone number, e-mail address, or last name based on the option you
selected in step 4. If you selected Last Name Lookup, press Return after you type
a few letters of the last name. If necessary, use the scroll buttons to choose a name,
and then press Return .
6. Type your message or tap Boilerplate to select from pre-defined text phrases.
7. Hold Option and press Return to send the message.
Note: If you are out of a coverage area, the message goes in the Pending folder.
When you return to a coverage area, your message is sent automatically.
