Audio 20 starts the telephony mode depend-
ing on whether a mobile phone bracket is
installed or not.
A mobile phone bracket is installed
Audio 20 activates convenience telephony. If
no mobile phone is in the mobile phone
bracket, the following message appears:
Telephone not inserted. If there is a
mobile phone in the bracket, the PIN query
(Y page 35) or the telephone basic menu for
convenience telephony (
Y page 35) appears.
A mobile phone bracket is not installed
Audio 20 activates Bluetooth
®
interface tel-
ephony and searches for the last two mobile
phones to
have been connected. If one of the
two mobile phones is found, the telephone
basic menu for Bluetooth
®
telephony
appears. (Y page 34). If neither of the mobile
phones are found, the Ready for Blue‐
tooth telephony message remains in the
display. You must now authorise your mobile
phone (Y page 32).

The connection remains active until Audio
20 is switched off if no other mobile phone
from the telephone list is connected. Dur-
ing connection, only the Bluetooth
®
inter-
face functions are available.
Reception and transmission volume
The following information is valid for Blue-
tooth
®
interface telephony and convenience
telephony.
It is generally not recommended to change
the settings for reception and transmission
volume, as the preset values are set to suit
most mobile phones. To find out about the
best
possible
settings for your mobile phone,
contact a Mercedes-Benz Service Centre or
visit http://www.mercedes-benz.com/
connect.

The wrong settings may have a serious
impact on transmission quality.

It is not possible to adjust these settings
while making a call.

Select TelephoneQTelephone list.

Select your mobile phone from the list.
The Reception volume and Transmis‐
sion volume options only appear if the
selected mobile phone is authorised.

Select OptionsQReception volume or
Transmission volume.

Adjust the volume on the scale.
Telephone operation
Incoming call
Rejecting or accepting the call
When you receive a call, you will hear a ringing
tone and the incoming call will appear in the
display.
i Depending on the mobile phone, the
Audio 20 ringing tone may differ from the
one you set. You could hear one of the fol-
lowing:
