Selecting the Recording Mode
Rotate the mode dial to select the recording mode.

Recorded pictures can be displayed automatically by setting [Auto Review] of
the [Custom] ([Monitor / Display (Photo)]) menu. You can also change the
picture display duration to your preferred setting. (l 382)

With the default settings, you cannot take a picture until the subject is
brought into focus.
If you set [Focus/Shutter Priority] in the [Custom] ([Focus/Shutter])
menu to [BALANCE] or [RELEASE], you will be able to take a picture
even when the subject is not in focus. (l 373)
