5. 4K Photo and Drive Settings
The camera will perform burst recording of a 4K photo and save it as a 4K burst file with
a [Rec Format] setting of [MP4].
Regardless of the [System Frequency] setting, 4K burst files are recorded at [4K/100M/
30p] and they can be played back on the camera.
When [Auto Review] is enabled, the picture selection screen will be displayed
automatically. To continue recording, press the shutter button halfway to display the
recording screen.
For information on how to select and save pictures from recorded 4K burst files, refer to
P121.
To reduce camera shake, we recommend that you use a tripod and shutter remote
control (DMW-RSL1: optional) (P315) when using [Light Composition] (P245).

Auto Focus adjusts focus
continuously, and except in Manual
Exposure Mode, it also adjusts
exposure continuously.
Images may not appear as smooth as they do on the normal
recording screen.
When [ ] ([4K Pre-Burst]) is set, the battery drains faster
and the camera temperature rises. Select [ ] ([4K
Pre-Burst]) only when recording.
Recording tips
In situations where you want to lock focus and exposure, such
as when the subject is not at the center, use [AF/AE LOCK].

Motion picture file will be recorded and played back in separate files in the following cases.
(You can continue recording without interruption.)
When using an SDHC memory card: If the file exceeds 4 GB
When using an SDXC memory card: If the continuous recording time exceeds 3 hours and
4 minutes or If the file exceeds 96 GB
