Recording technique
We recommend using a tripod and the
self-timer for taking pictures.
In [NIGHT PORTRAIT], we recommend
rotating the zoom lever to W (Wide) and
being about 1.5 m from the subject when
taking a picture. Keep the subject still for
about 1 second after taking the picture.
The range in which the focus is adjusted
is:
[NIGHT PORTRAIT]: 1.2 m to 5 m
other settings: 5 m to Z
For details about available ash range,
see P44 .
The shutter may remain closed (max.
about 8 sec.) after taking the picture
because of signal processing. This is not
a malfunction.
Noise may become noticeable when
taking pictures in dark places.
The ash ([ Slow sync./Red-eye
reduction] xed) can be set for settings
only for [NIGHT PORTRAIT].
In [NIGHT SCENERY] the shutter speed
becomes as follows:
Max. 8 seconds:
When optical image stabilizer is [OFF]
When optical image stabilizer is
[MODE1] or [MODE2] and the camera
determines that there is little jitter
Max. 1/8 second:
Other cases than the case listed above.
[CREATIVE NIGHT SCENERY] is
selected, [SENSITIVITY] is xed to
[ISO100].
When [NIGHT PORTRAIT] is selected,
the initial setting for [AF MODE] is [
]
(face detection).
You cannot set the white balance.
