Original: The original Janguage of each disc will be selected.
Dther I _ +: Input a cede number with the numbered buttons
(r >see below)
/_utl_matic: If the language selected for "Audio" is not available.
subtitles ol that language will automatica,y appear
if available on that disc
Some dJscs are designed to stad in a certain language despite any
changes you make here
On: Reduces noise for recording by separating the luminance (Y)
and color (C) signals received from the television station.
Off: Reduces the ghosling that occurs when recording fast moving
images.

Automatic: File unit automatically switches resolution rates during
recording The unit reduces block noise, which occurs
during MPEG compression, by selecting the optimum
rate.
Fbled: -rtle resolution rate is fixed during recording This en-
sures the resolution rate is not reduced.

Field: Less blurred field stil_s are shown. Select if jittering occurs
when "Automatic" is se)ected.
Frame: Sharper frame sli!ls are shown. Select if small text or fine
patterns cannol be seen clearly when "Automatic" is
selected•

On: The scenes m play lists created with this unit are played seam
Iossly This may cause shifting of the points where scenes
change. Some play fists cannot be played seamlessly.
Off: The points where scenes in play lists are played accuratety, but
this may cause the picture to freeze for a moment when scenes
change

is dimmed)

Pan&Scan: Video recorded for a widescreen is played with the
sides cut off if the pan & scan was specified by the
producer of the disc 16:9 software prohibited from be-
ing shown in the pan and scan style will appear in the
letterbox style (with black bands above and below the
picture) despite the setting here•
Letferboll: Video recorded for a widescreen is played in the letter-
box style
