Entering titles

You can:
≥Title discs with the DISC INFORMATION in the Top Window (page 39).
≥Title programmes with the DIRECT NAVIGATOR (page 47).
≥Or title play lists with the PLAY LIST screen (page 61).
Preparation
≥Switch [DVD, TV] to “DVD”.
≥Insert a disc with something recorded on it.
≥Select Titling “DISC INFORMATION”, Titling “DIRECT NAVIGATOR“, or Titling “PLAY LIST“
screen.

After the titling screen appears
Use the joystick [3, 4, 2, 1] to select the character you want to enter and
press [ENTER].
≥You can enter the following characters.
(1)This window shows the text you have entered
(Title field)
(2)Capital letters
(3)Lower-case letters
(4)Numbers
(5)Symbols
(6)ERASE
(7)SET (when you have finished entering text)
(8)SPACE
ªTo enter other characters
Repeat step 1.

Use the joystick [3, 4, 2, 1] to select “SET” and press [ENTER].
≥The title is entered and the screen disappears.
ªTo correct a character
1) Use the joystick [3, 4, 2, 1] to select the character you want to correct in the title field.
2) Use the joystick [3, 4] to move outside the title field.
3) Use the joystick to select “ERASE” and press [ENTER]. The last character is erased.
4) Use the joystick to select the correct character and press [ENTER].
Note
≥Even if you have entered up to the maximum number of characters, characters you enter after
the position marked with “4” in the title field and the character immediately prior to the mark will
be replaced with “...” when displayed in the direct navigator and play list lists.
≥You cannot enter titles if the programme is protected. Release the protection with the direct
navigator. (page 50)
≥You cannot enter titles unless the “Disc Protection” in DISC INFORMATION is “Off”. (page 41)
≥You cannot enter titles if the disc is protected with the write protect tab (page 91).
