Use [3, 4] to select “Start Dubbing”
and press [ENTER].
The confirmation screen will be displayed.
Select “Yes” with [2] and press [ENTER] to start dubbing.
≥If “Total” is larger than “Remain”, you cannot start dubbing.
(You can start dubbing in “MPEG2#4” mode.)
Note
≥For further information on recording limits, refer to “Recording/
Dubbing/Moving of a programme” (page 21).
≥It is not possible to activate timer recording during dubbing.
≥When dubbing programmes or play lists including bilingual
broadcasting, select the audio in “Bilingual Audio Selection”
(page 54)
- When dubbing to DVD-R
- When dubbing in LPCM
- When dubbing in “MPEG2#4”
≥The information such as title is dubbed as it is. (Marker is dubbed
only in “High Speed” mode. Protection information is not dubbed
in “MPEG2#4”.)
≥Select the “TV System” (PAL/NTSC) of the programme you wish
to dub. (page 55)
≥In High Speed mode, it takes more time to dub many files or files
including LPCM than usual. The dubbing time is increased or
decreased depending on the contents of the files to be dubbed.
≥For PC card, only Mobile hard disc is compatible.

You cannot dub programmes and play lists in High Speed mode
without the indication of “ ”.
Refer to “When dubbing programmes to DVD-RAM or DVD-R
(t1–t4) in High Speed mode” (page 27).

If you select the higher recording mode than that of the dubbing
source, the picture quality of the dubbed contents cannot be
improved. (You can prevent the deterioration of the contents.)

If “MPEG4 Rec Mode” to “Off”, the data cannot be converted,
and if it is set to “SF”, you cannot dub to a MultiMediaCard.

High Speed:
This mode performs recording at high speed. Using this
mode allows you to dub using less time than the actual
duration of the programme. Note that it is not possible to
view the picture during high speed dubbing.
ªTo add or remove from the dubbing list
While the Dubbing List (step 5-(1)) is displayed
1) Use [3, 4] to select the dubbing list and press [1].
2) Use [3, 4] to select an item and press [ENTER].
≥If you choose “Add”, carry out steps 5-(3) and 5-(4). The item
will be added above the programme selected in step 1 of this
operation.
≥If you select “Erase” or “Erase All”, a confirmation screen will
be displayed. Use [2, 1] to select “Yes” or “No” and press
[ENTER]. (Return to Dubbing List.)
Note
≥On HDD, the items remain on the dubbing list until it is erased.
On DVD-RAM, the items are erased when the disc is removed or
the power is turned off.
≥When erasing the source programme or play list (when
recording, erasing or dubbing in the case of SD VIDEO (MPEG4)
programme), all dubbing lists are erased.
ªTo stop dubbing halfway through
Keep pressing [RETURN] for 3 or more seconds.
≥When stopping dubbing partway through, the contents are
dubbed up to the point. In High Speed mode, programmes are
erased unless they are completely dubbed. (Once you recorded
on DVD-R, the remaining capacity is reduced.)

(recorded by “FR” recording mode)
- The play list including multiple audio (e.g. Dolby Digital and
LPCM is mixed.)
- The programme which is repeated partial erasure.

Programmes with recording limitation
≥If a programme with recording limitations is dubbed from HDD to
DVD-RAM, the programme is moved (i.e. it is moved to another
storage media). The original programme (including play list
scenes made from that programme) are erased. However, if the
programme with recording limitation is protected, it cannot be
moved.
≥Programmes with recording limitations and play lists cannot be
registered on the same dubbing list.
≥Play lists made from programmes with recording limitations
cannot be dubbed.
N/P (N: NTSC, P: PAL):
Displayed when you dubbed using a different encoding system
from that of the TV system currently selected on the unit.
≥To play back a programme dubbed using a different encoding
system from that of the TV system currently selected, alter the TV
system setting on this unit to suit (page 55).
