Recording, timer recording and dubbing Page
The remote control doesn’t work.
≥The unit is on standby to make a timer recording (“ ” on the unit’s display is on).
≥[DVD, TV] is not switched to “DVD”.
Switch to “DVD” when operating this unit.
≥The remote control code is wrong.
Change to the correct code.
≥The batteries are depleted. Replace them with new ones.
≥Point the remote control at the remote control sensor on the main unit.
≥Remove obstacles between the remote control and main unit.
≥The Child Lock function is activated.
≥If you repeat inserting of discs or turning this unit on and off 50 times or more, the
recording or editing of DVD-R may be disabled.

Cannot operate the TV. ≥The remote control code is wrong. Change to the correct code. Some TVs cannot be
operated even if you change the code.
≥[DVD, TV] is not switched to “TV”. Switch to “TV” when operating the TV.

Cannot record. ≥You haven’t inserted a disc or the inserted disc is not compatible. Insert a disc the unit
can record onto.
≥The disc is unformatted.
Format the disc so this unit can record on it.
≥The write protect tab on the cartridge is set to “PROTECT”.
Use a ballpoint pen or similar to release the write protection.
≥Recording is not possible unless you set “Disc Protection” in “DISC INFORMATION” to
“Off”.
≥HDD or the disc is full or nearly full.
Delete unneeded programmes or use another disc.
≥The material you are trying to record is copy-guarded.
≥Tried to record to a DVD-R that has already been finalized.
≥Timer recording will not be activated when in editing or dubbing. Timer recording will
begin after the editing/dubbing is finished.
≥If you repeat recording or editing 200 times or more, the remaining capacity of the DVD-R
is reduced and then the recording or editing may be disabled.

Correct the programme and check them when you are finished.

≥Different timer programme times overlap.
≥The clock is wrong.
Go to “Settings” in the “SETUP” menus and correct the clock with “Clock”.
≥Timer recording will not be activated during formatting, dubbing, editing of still pictures
and other such operations which are not suitable for interruption when they are being
carried out.

recording or editing, the programme may be lost or the disc may become unusable.

dubbing to DVD-R in High Speed
mode.
≥It takes more time to dub many files or files including LPCM than usual.

louder than usual.

Can we dub DVD-R with t24
speed?
≥When the programme is recorded in EP mode, and it is dubbed in High Speed mode on
DVD-R which is compatible with high speed recording, the dubbing speed is 24 times
faster than usual (e.g. When the recording is 6 hours long, it is dubbed in 15 minutes.).
