Windows Firewall Setting Tool

Why is this setup tool necessary?

After you install Microsoft Windows XP Service Pack 2 (SP2)

, Windows Server 2003 Service

Pack 1 (SP1)

, some network functions of the Panasonic software may not work. This problem

is solved by configuring the Windows Internet Connection Firewall, since it may be difficult for

a general user.

The Windows Firewall Setting Tool for Panasonic software is intended for use by general

users to assist in configuring the Windows Internet connection firewall. This tool can be used

as a standalone utility or is included with the Panasonic software installer.

- Add the Windows Internet Connection Firewall exceptions for Panasonic software.

- Remove the Windows Internet Connection Firewall exceptions.

Installation procedure 1. Double-click Setup.exe. 2. The software installation is started. 3. The installation folder dialog box will appear. Click next to install the utility into the default installation folder. (Recommended) * Click "Browse" to change the installation location, and then click "next".

4. The installation is started. 5. The [Windows Firewall Setting Tool] starts. Select "Enable Communications" then press "OK". 6. The confirmation dialog box will be displayed when the operation is completed. Click "OK".

7. When the completion screen is displayed, click "Finish" to end the installation.

Uninstall Procedure To uninstall the "Windows Firewall Setting Tool" Open the "Add or Remove Programs" applet in the Windows Control Panel. Select "Windows Firewall Setting Tool" then click on the "Change/Remove" button to uninstall the tool. Note: Once the software has been uninstalled all Firewall exceptions will be removed.

How to use the Windows Firewall Setting Tool after installation 1. To use the [Windows Firewall Setting Tool]. Click on the Start menu then select "All Programs" -> "Panasonic" -> "Windows Firewall Setting Tool" then click on the "Windows Firewall Setting Tool" icon to start the tool. 2. When the program is executed the Windows Firewall Setting Tool dialog box will appear. Note: The current Windows Firewall communication setting is marked with (Current) next to the setting option. 3.

5. When "Disable Communications" is selected the following confirmation message will appear. 6. When the Windows Firewall Tool has finished disabling the Communications settings the following warning dialog box will appear. 7. Press ok to exit the Firewall Setting Tool or select cancel to return to the Firewall communications screen.
