NFC Starter
NFC tags are microchips that can be embedded in stickers, posters, plastic cards, etc. You may have an
NFC tag embedded in your driver’s licence, rail pass, or credit card. You can register NFC tags to the phone
and use them to trigger actions on your phone, such as opening a frequently-used web site or app, changing
the app used to display the Home screen, or unlocking the phone.
Note
In this document, NFC tags are referred to as “NFC cards”.
Registering an NFC card (NFC tag)
1. Tap [NFC Starter] in the Home screen or app list.
If an NFC card has already been registered, tap [New] to register an additional card.
2. Follow the on-screen instructions and touch the NFC card to the [NFC] mark on the rear of the phone.
3. Tap [Yes].
4. Select the desired action.
[Change Home screen]: Allows you to configure the phone to change the app used to display the
Home screen whenever you touch the NFC card to the phone.
[Start app]: Allows you to configure the phone to launch a specific app whenever you touch the NFC
card to the phone.
[Open web page]: Allows you to configure the phone to open a specific web site whenever you
touch the NFC card to the phone.
5. Follow the on-screen instructions.

when registering and using NFC cards.
To use an NFC card to unlock your phone, see “Configuring the screen lock” (page 74).
Initiating a registered action
Once you have registered an NFC card to the phone for use with [NFC Starter], simply touch the NFC
card to the [NFC] mark on the rear of the phone to initiate the action you selected at the time of registration.
Changing the name assigned to an NFC card (NFC tag)
1. Tap [NFC Starter] in the Home screen or app list.
2. Select the desired item.
3. Tap [Edit title].
4. Enter a name for the NFC card and tap [OK] ® [Yes].
Deleting an NFC card (NFC tag)
1. Tap [NFC Starter] in the Home screen or app list.
2. Select the desired item.
3. Tap [Delete] ® [Yes].

The [Calendar] app allows you to create and manage your schedule.
