1 Open the LCD monitor or extend the
viewfinder to switch to Still Picture
Recording Mode. (

2 Press the button halfway. (For
Auto Focus only)
Focus indication:
3 Press the button fully.
≥ If you set the Optical Image Stabilizer function (l 91) to ([MODE1]), then the Image
Stabilizer function will be more effective. ( (MEGA Optical Image Stabilizer) will be
displayed when the button is pressed halfway.)
≥ Using a tripod is recommended when recording still pictures in dark places because the shutter
speed becomes slow.
≥ You can also take a picture just by touching the subject to focus. (Touch Shutter: l 93)
≥ The focus indication and the focus area may not be displayed depending on the recording
conditions or the menu settings.
∫ To set the desired Fn button as the Photoshot button
( series/ series)
You can also change the [FN BUTTON SETTING] so you can use the desired Fn button as a
Photoshot button. (l 115)
≥ The function where Auto Focus works when the Photoshot button is pressed halfway in step 2 is
enabled when [ ] is set in the [Fn3] (Fn3 button).
