Operating Instructions

Alarm system features (overview)
You can use the system as an alarm system. When the alarm system is triggered, such as when motion
is detected or when a window or door is opened, the system can:
send a notification to your mobile devices ( “Status notifications”, Page 44)
call a pre-programmed phone number (such as your mobile phone or work phone) and play a
message to alert you to the situation ( “Alert by phone call”, Page 54)
execute a smart control scenario, such as recording camera images or turning on a smart plug
( “Smart control features (overview)”, Page 56)
Important:
R This system is an auxiliary system; it is not designed to provide complete protection from property loss.
Panasonic will not be held responsible in the event that property loss occurs while this system is in
operation.
Arm modes
You can arm and disarm the alarm system by changing the arm mode. When the alarm system is
disarmed, all alarm system features are disabled.
Sensors that can be used to trigger alarm system features
The following sensors can be used to trigger alarm system features.
Window sensors and door sensors (KX-HNS101)
Motion sensors (KX-HNS102)
Water leak sensors (KX-HNS103)
Glass break sensors (KX-HNS104)
Garage door sensors (KX-HNS107)
Built-in motion sensors in outdoor cameras (KX-HNC600)
Built-in motion sensors in indoor cameras (KX-HNC200, KX-HNC210)
Note:
R The following sensors cannot be used to trigger alarm system features.
Built-in sound and temperature sensors in indoor cameras (KX-HNC200, KX-HNC210)
Built-in overcurrent and overwattage detection sensor in smart plugs (KX-HNA101)
Triggering the alarm system
The following explains what is needed to trigger the alarm system, and what happens when a sensor is
triggered while the alarm system is armed.
1 The sensor must be enabled for the current arm mode in order for it to be triggered. You can also
select whether or not the sensor uses entry time (explained below).
R See “Alarm system settings”, Page 53.
R Water leak sensors cannot be disabled.
2 The alarm system must be armed in order for it to be triggered.
R See “Arming and disarming the alarm system”, Page 52.
R Water leak sensors can always trigger the alarm system, even when the alarm system is disarmed.
R If the current arm mode is [Arm: Away], exit time is in effect beginning when the arm mode was
set. During this time, sensors cannot be triggered; this gives you time to leave the house after
arming the alarm system. The exit delay alert sounds during this time. Once exit time runs out, the
alarm system is armed.
