Turning the answering system on and off
Activating the answering system
You must activate the answering system before you can use it. The answering system is disabled by
default.
1 From the [Home Network] app home screen, tap [Settings].
2 Tap [Answering Device].

The [Answering Device] setting may be called [Answering System].
3 Tap [Settings].
4 Turn on the [Answering Device] switch.

Turning the answering system on and off
This setting determines whether the answering system answers landline calls when you do not answer
them.
1 From the [Home Network] app home screen, tap [Phone].
2 Open the [More] screen.
3 Tap [Connect to Answering Device].

The [Connect to Answering Device] setting may be called [Connect to Answering System].
4 Tap [Answer on] or [Answer off].
Playing your messages
When the answering system has recorded new messages,
is displayed in the status bar (Android
devices only) and your mobile device’s notification feature displays a notification. To play back your
messages easily, tap the notification and then use the playback controls described below.
1 From the [Home Network] app home screen, tap [Phone].
2 Open the [More] screen.
3 Tap [Connect to Answering Device].

The [Connect to Answering Device] setting may be called [Connect to Answering System].
4 Tap [Play].
R Your new messages are played back. If there are no new messages, old messages will be played
back.
R The following operations are available when playing back messages.
[Skip]: Plays the next message.
[Repeat]: Repeats the current message from the beginning, or plays the previous message.
[Stop]: Stops message playback and returns to the previous screen.
[Erase]: Erases the current message.
[Disconnect]: Stops message playback and exits the answering system.
[Audio Source] (iPhone, iPad only): Allows you to select a different audio output device for
playback.
