Setting the connecting tone

If you often have trouble when sending faxes, this feature allows you to hear
connecting tones: fax tone, ring back tone and busy tone. You can use these
tones to confirm the status of the other party’s machine.
M0N “OFF”: Deactivates this feature.
M1N “ON” (default): You will hear connecting tones.
Note:
R If the ring back tone continues, the other party’s machine may not be a fax
machine or may have run out of paper. Check with the other party.
R The connecting tone volume cannot be adjusted.
Making fax transmission

This feature is available when the transmitting/receiving machines are
compatible.
M0N “OFF” (default): Deactivate this feature.
M1N “ON”: The fax transmission speed will be faster.
Setting the maximum fax

Note:
R The fax speed maybe lower than the selected speed depending on your line.
Setting the quick scan mode

M0N “OFF” (default): Deactivates this feature.
M1N “ALWAYS”: The unit will scan the document and store it into memory first,
then the unit will start sending the documents.
Confirming the destination
before sending a fax

M0N “OFF” (default): Deactivates this feature.
M1N “ON”: You can send a fax after confirming the destination. When the
displayed destination is correct, press MStartN to send the fax.
Setting dial keypad entry

M0N “OFF” (default): Deactivates this feature.
M1N “ON”: If you do not wish to dial a fax number manually using the dial keypad,
activate this feature.
Note:
R If you select “ON”, you cannot make redial calls to fax numbers entered
using the dial keypad.
R If you select “ON”, the fax number re-entry setting (feature #422 on
page 61) will be deactivated.

M1N “ON”: If you dial a fax number manually using the dial keypad, you have to
re-enter the number and press MStartN. When the 2nd entry number matches
the 1st entry number, you can send the fax.
Setting auto reduction

M0N “OFF”: Deactivates this feature.
M1N “ON” (default): The unit will fit received documents onto your recording
paper.
