10.2 Mode restriction
You can restrict output by enabling department codes.
Only users who know the department code can:
make a copy
print a document
Note:
R You can set department codes and restriction settings for individual departments (up to 10 departments).
R To use the mode restriction feature, do not allow many people to know the administrator code.
10.2.1 Setting the mode restriction
Activating the mode restriction

Setting mode restriction for departments
Important:
R Make sure feature #154 is set to “ON” beforehand.
1. Mt/MENUN (repeatedly): DEPARTMENT SETUP A MEN
2. Enter the administrator code (feature #151). A MOK/SETN
3. MFEN: NEW A MOK/SETN
4. Enter the name, up to 16 characters (see page 45 for character entry). A MOK/SETN
5. Enter a 4-digit department code using 0-9. A MOK/SETN
6. If necessary, change the PRINT or COPY setting.
MCDN: Select the desired setting. A MOK/SETN

Editing mode restriction for departments
Important:
R Make sure feature #154 is set to “ON” beforehand.
1. Mt/MENUN (repeatedly): DEPARTMENT SETUP A MEN
2. Enter the administrator code (feature #151). A MOK/SETN
3. MFEN: EDIT A MOK/SETN
4. MCDN: Display the desired item. A Mt/MENUN A MG/ToneN
5. Edit the name if necessary. A MOK/SETN
6. Edit the department code if necessary. A MOK/SETN
7. Edit the department settings if necessary.
MCDN: Select the desired setting. A MOK/SETN
8. Mw/STOPN A Mt/MENUN
Erasing a stored item
Important:
R Make sure feature #154 is set to “ON” beforehand.
