Remote operation
Using a touch-tone phone, you can call your phone
number from outside and access the unit to listen
to messages or change answering system
settings.
Important:
L In order to operate the answering system
remotely, you must first turn on remote operation
by setting a remote access code. This code
must be entered each time you operate the
answering system remotely.
Turning remote operation on
A 4-digit remote access code must be entered
when operating the answering system remotely.
The remote access code is pre-programmed in
this unit. This code prevents unauthorised parties
from listening to your messages remotely. Remote
access is not possible unless you change the
default remote access code (page 25).

Using the answering system
remotely
When the answering system is on
1 Dial your phone number from a touch-tone
phone.
2 Press {* } after you hear the greeting.
L The greeting will stop.
3 Enter the remote access code.
L New messages will be played back first.
L If there are no new messages, all old
messages will be played back after a long
beep.
L If you enter the wrong remote access code,
a long beep will ring 2 times. If you enter the
wrong one 2 times, it will automatically hang
up.
4 Refer to following table and press the
corresponding keys for operations.
Note:
L You can hang up at any time.
Remote commands
When the answering system is off
1 Dial your phone number from a touch-tone
phone.
2 Let the phone ring 10 times.
3 Enter your remote access code within 10
seconds.
L You can hang up, or enter your remote
access code again and begin remote
operation.
L If you enter the wrong remote access code,
a long beep will ring 2 times. If you enter the
wrong one 2 times, it will automatically hang
up.

{8} Turn answering system on
{0} Turn answering system off
{#} Erase currently playing message
*1 Press again quickly to play the previous
message.
