Problem Cause/solution

R The handset is too far from the base unit. Move closer.
R The base unit’s AC adaptor is not properly connected.
Reconnect AC adaptor to the base unit.
R The handset is not registered to the base unit. Register it
(page 38).
R Activating eco mode reduces the range of the base unit in
standby mode. If required, turn eco mode off (page 15).
Noise is heard, sound cuts
in and out.
R You are using the handset or base unit in an area with high
electrical interference. Re-position the base unit and use the
handset away from sources of interference.
R Move closer to the base unit.
R If you use a DSL/ADSL service, we recommend connecting a
DSL/ADSL filter between the base unit and the telephone line
jack. Contact your DSL/ADSL provider for details.
Sound quality seems to be
getting worse.
R You have registered a handset that is not recommended. The
clearest sound quality is only possible by registering the
provided handset.
The handset does not ring. R The ringer volume is turned off. Adjust ringer volume (page 16,
30).
R Do not disturb mode is turned on. Turn it off (page 34).
R If the handset is registered to multiple base units, the handset
may not be able to make or receive calls or communicate with
the base unit when the following conditions are met.
Eco mode is set to Eco Plus (page 15).
Base unit selection is set to Auto (page 32).
In this case, place the handset near the base unit, and change
the setting to Eco or Off. Repeat for each base unit.
The base unit does not
ring.
R The ringer volume is turned off. Adjust ringer volume (page 17,
30).
I cannot make a call. R You dialled a call restricted number (page 37).
R The key lock feature is turned on. Turn it off (page 18).
Caller ID
Problem Cause/solution
Caller information is not
displayed.
R You must subscribe to a Caller ID service. Contact your phone
service provider for details.
R If your unit is connected to any additional telephone
equipment, remove and plug the unit directly into the wall jack.
R If you use a DSL/ADSL service, we recommend connecting a
DSL/ADSL filter between the base unit and the telephone line
jack. Contact your DSL/ADSL provider for details.
R Other telephone equipment may be interfering with this unit.
Disconnect the other equipment and try again.
