C) DUST COMPARTMENT OPERATION This bagless vacuum cleaner collects the dust in a dust compartment located on the front of the cleaner. Located within the dust compartment are the pre-filter and the prefilter wiper. The pre-filter wiper rotates around the pre-filter wiping dust off towards the main dust compartment. It also helps to remove large particles of dust that may get trapped on the pre-filter while cleaning. Located on the outside of the dust compartment is the Maximum dust level mark.
E) DUST SENSOR (MC-E593 only) The dust sensor indicator automatically informs you of the cleaning conditions. When dust is present in the air being vacuumed the red indicator lights and remains lit until the air is free of dust. The Red light then goes off indicating the area is free of dust. The dust sensor may not operate correctly if the airflow is restricted due to a blockage or dust build-up on the sensors. • Check the suction pipe inlet and hose for any blockage and remove the obstruction.
G) FLOOR SCRATCH / CARPET DAMAGE PREVENTION Hard floor Carpeted floor To prevent scratches or other damage to hard floors, Linoleum etc., switch the beater bar off using the pedal. To avoid damaging carpeted floors or rugs, do not leave the beater bar rotating in the same place for too long. ATTENTION: Refer to your carpet manufacturers cleaning recommendations. Some more delicate carpets and long pile carpets may require that they be vacuumed with the beater bar off, to prevent damage.
