Search Functions

If you press the [LIBRARY/SEARCH] button (4) after a timer recording has finished, but before ejecting the cassette, the Timer

Record Confirmation will be activated instead of the Intro-Jet Scan.

Timer Record Confirmation (For NV-FJ730B)

• Each timer recording programming on the tape must be at least 15 minutes long. (25 minutes in the EP)

1 Press the [LIBRARY/SEARCH] button to display the

Timer Record Confirmation menu.

2 Press the [Cursor] buttons (34) to select the

programme that you want to locate and play back.

3 Press the [LIBRARY/SEARCH] button to start the

search for the beginning of the selected programme.

• When the desired recorded programme has been

found, playback starts automatically.

• If, after playback has started, you want to search for

the beginning of the same or another programme,

press the [LIBRARY/SEARCH] button.

Playback stops, and the Timer Record Confirmation

menu appears.

Repeat the operations steps 2–3.

4 To Cancel the Timer Record Confirmation Search:

Press the [EXIT] button.

Intro-Jet Scan (For NV-FJ730B)

1 Press the [LIBRARY/SEARCH] button to start the

Intro-Jet Scan.

• After rewinding the tape to the beginning, the VCR

plays back the first section of each recording at cue

speed, fast-forwarding between recordings.

2 When you have found the programme that you want to

view, press the [Play] button to start normal playback.

3 To Cancel the Intro-Jet Scan or to Stop Playback:

Press the [Stop] button.

VISS=VHS Index Search System (For NV-FJ730B)

Each programme recorded on the tape must be at least 5 minutes long.

1 To search for the beginning of a recording, press the

[INDEX] button K (for searching backward) and L

(for searching forward).

You can press the button twice or three times to locate

the second or third recording in either direction.

• The VCR fast-forwards or rewinds the tape and

searches for the specified index signal at the

beginning of the desired recording then playback

starts automatically.

2 To Cancel the Index Search or to Stop Playback:

Press the [Stop] button.
