Displaying a Small Still Picture Inside the
Normal Picture (Picture-in-Picture)
This function lets you display a small still picture inside the
normal picture. You can use this function in the Recording
and Recording Pause Modes.
After setting [EFFECT1] on the [DIGITAL EFFECT] Sub-
Menu to [P IN P] and then displaying the [CAMERA
SETUP] Sub-Menu... (l 28)
≥The [©] Lamp lights.
1 Turn the [34] Dial to select [TOP REC
BUTTON] and then press the [SET] Button to
select [MULTI/SNAP].
2 Press the [MENU] Button to exit the menu.
≥The [P IN P] Indication appears.
3 Aim the Movie Camera at the scene or subject
that you want to capture as a small still picture
and press the [MULTI] Button.
≥A small picture appears inside the normal picture.
Erasing the Small Picture
Press the [MULTI] Button.
If you press the [MULTI] Button again, another small picture is
displayed.
Cancelling the Picture-in-Picture Mode
Set [EFFECT1] on the [DIGITAL EFFECT] Sub-Menu to
[OFF].
≥The small picture is recorded with slightly inferior picture
quality compared to that of normal moving pictures.
≥If you press the [MULTI] Button during recording, a small
noise may also be recorded.
≥When a small still picture is displayed, it is not possible to
apply the Sepia or Black & White Mode to the small picture,
although their indications might appear.
