From ecological point of view it makes sense to ‘invest’ in a good charger
and rechargeable batteries because with a few sets the consumer basically
never has to buy other batteries or throw used batteries away. This way
consumer can use very efficiently the raw materials used for the production
of the rechargeable batteries and the impact on the environment is reduced
to a minimum.
As described in both examples, rechargeables can easily replace
thousands of alkaline batteries, So using rechargeables can save tons
of waste in primary batteries and contribute to the overall green attitude
and ecological ideas of our society.
