Read first Installation Installation •• Turn off all the equipment before connection and read the appropriate operating instructions. Be sure to raise this unit when moving, and do not drag this unit. •• Do not carry this unit by holding the subwoofer of the bottom of this unit. Notes on the speakers •• These speakers do not have magnetic shielding. Do not place them near TV, PC or other equipment easily influenced by magnetism.
Adjusting with the Space Tune function •• You can adjust the sound quality automatically according to the installation location (near the wall or the corner of the room). Press and hold [SETUP] ([-SPACE TUNE AUTO]) to start the sound adjustment. •• The auto adjustment function is not available while the headphone is connected. •• A test tone outputs quite big while the measurement is in progress. •• To cancel the adjustment in the middle, press [ ].

Connections Antenna •• This unit can receive DAB+ and FM stations with the DAB antenna. Antenna connection Be sure to tighten the nut fully. Adhesive tape (not supplied) DAB indoor antenna (supplied) •• Tape the antenna to a wall or column at the position with the least amount of interference. •• If radio reception is poor, use a DAB outdoor antenna (not supplied).
Connections AC mains lead •• Use only the supplied AC mains lead. •• Insert the plugs of the cables to be connected all the way in. •• Do not bend cables at sharp angles. Connections Network settings You can stream online music services or music files from your smartphone/tablet to this unit. To use these features, this system must join the same internet-connected network as the compatible device. This unit can be connected to a router using a LAN cable or built-in Wi-Fi®. For a stable connection to the network, a wired LAN connection is recommended.
2 Connect your smartphone/tablet to the same network as this unit before setting. •• Make sure that the network is connected to the Internet.

Wireless LAN connection ■■Preparation Disconnect the AC mains lead. Disconnect the LAN cable. Place this unit as close to the wireless router as possible. Connect the AC mains lead to this unit. (⇒ 27) Note •• The setting will be cancelled after the set time limit. In that case, try the setting again. •• To cancel this setting in the middle, press [ ] or turn the unit to standby mode. •• When the connection is established, “ ” is displayed.

Operations Playing back CDs Insert the CD for music playback. •• Refer to “Notes on CDs” (⇒ 106) for the discs this unit can play back. Lens 1 Press [ ] to turn this unit on. 2 Press [CD]. 3 Open the top cover with a sliding motion and then insert the CD. •• The top cover can slide to the both sides. •• Place the CD with its label facing up, and push the centre of the CD until a clicking sound is heard. 4 Close the top cover with a sliding motion.
Note •• Be careful not to get your finger caught in the top cover when opening/closing it. •• Do not apply too much force to the top cover when sliding it. Doing so may cause malfunction. •• Do not leave the top cover open for a prolonged period. Doing so will cause the lens to become dirty. •• Be careful not to touch the lens with your fingers. •• The lens lights when the following operations are performed with no CD inserted. This is not a malfunction.

Operations Listening to DAB/DAB+ Make sure that the DAB antenna is connected. (⇒ 26) Storing DAB/DAB+ stations To listen to DAB/DAB+ broadcasts, the available stations need to be stored in this unit. •• This unit will automatically start scanning and store the stations available in your region if the memory is empty. 1 Press [RADIO] to select “DAB/DAB+”. 2 “Auto Scan” starts automatically. •• “Scan Failed” is displayed if the auto scan is unsuccessful.
Presetting DAB/DAB+ stations You can preset up to 20 DAB/DAB+ stations. 1 Press [RADIO] to select “DAB/DAB+”. 2 Press [PGM] while listening to a DAB broadcast. 3 Press [ ], [ ] to select the desired preset channel, and then press [PGM]. •• Presetting is not available when the station is not broadcasting or when the secondary service is selected. •• The station occupying a channel is erased if another station is preset in that channel. Listening to preset DAB/DAB+ stations 1 Press [MENU].
Display The information switches on the display when pressing [INFO] each time. Dynamic label: Information about the broadcast PTY display: Programme type Ensemble label: Name of the ensemble Frequency display: The frequency block and frequency are displayed. Station name: Name of the broadcasting station Automatic clock adjustment If the DAB broadcast includes time information, this unit’s clock will be automatically updated. 1 Press [MENU].
Manually tuning If “Scan Failed” is displayed after “DAB/DAB+” is selected or after an auto scan, use this function to scan a frequency block. ■■Preparation •• Note down a frequency block that can be received in your region (e.g., 12B 225.648 MHz). •• Adjust the position of the DAB antenna. 1 Press [MENU]. 2 Press [ ], [ ] repeatedly to select “Manual Scan” and then press [OK]. 3 Press [ ], [ ] to select the frequency block that is receivable in your region and then press [OK].
Operations Listening to FM Radio Make sure that the antenna is connected. (⇒ 26) Storing FM stations You can preset up to 30 channels. •• A station previously stored is overwritten when another station is selected for the same channel by presetting. 1 Press [RADIO] repeatedly to select “FM”. 2 Press [MENU]. 3 Press [ ], [ ] repeatedly to select “Auto Preset” and then press [OK]. 4 Press [ ], [ ] to select an item and then press [OK]. Lowest: To begin the auto preset with the lowest frequency (FM 87.50).
Manual tuning and presetting 1 Press [MENU]. 2 Press [ ], [ ] repeatedly to select “Tuning Mode” and then press [OK]. 3 Press [ ], [ ] to select “Manual” and then press [OK]. 4 Press [ ], [ ] to tune to the required station. To start automatic tuning, press and hold [ ] or [ ] until the frequency starts scrolling. Tuning stops when a station is found. ■■To preset the channel While listening to the radio broadcast, press [PGM]. Press [ ] or [ ] to select the channel and then press [PGM].
Operations Using Bluetooth® You can listen to the sound from the Bluetooth® audio device from this unit wirelessly. •• Refer to the operating instructions of the Bluetooth® device for details. Bluetooth® device ■■Pairing a Bluetooth® device •• Turn on the Bluetooth® feature of the device and place the device near this unit. •• If a Bluetooth® device is already connected, disconnect it. Note •• You can also enter pairing mode by pressing and holding [ -PAIRING] when the input source is “Bluetooth”. •• If prompted for the passkey, input “0000”. •• You can register up to 8 devices with this unit. If a 9th device is paired, the device that has not been used the longest may be replaced. •• While “Standby Mode” is set to “On” (⇒ 89), this unit automatically turns on when a Bluetooth® connection is established to this unit from a paired Bluetooth® device.

Deleting the track from playlist 1 Press [ ], [ ] to select “Playlist” and then press [OK]. •• Press [RETURN] to return to the previous folder. 2 Press [ ], [ ] to select a track to delete. 3 Press [MENU]. 4 Press [ ], [ ] to select “Delete One” and then press [OK]. •• Select “Delete All” and press [OK] to delete all tracks from playlist. •• “Deleted” is displayed after deleting. •• “Empty” is displayed if no track is registered to the playlist.
Operations Using digital audio output device You can connect a DVD player, etc. with optical digital audio cable (not supplied) and play back music. Optical digital audio cable (not supplied) DVD player, etc. 1 Disconnect the AC mains lead. 2 Connect this unit and a DVD player etc. 3 Connect the AC mains lead to this unit. (⇒ 27) 4 Press [ ] to turn this unit on. 5 Press [>SELECT<] repeatedly to select “OPT”. 6 Start playback on the connected device.
Operations Playing back music files on the media server You can share music files stored in the media server (PC, Network Attached Storage, etc.) connected to your home network, and enjoy the contents with this unit. ■■Preparation •• Complete the network settings. (⇒ 28) •• Connect the device to be used to the network of this unit. •• To use Windows Media® Player Add the contents and folder to the libraries of the Windows Media® Player 11 or 12, or a smartphone, etc.
Playing back content stored on the media server by controlling it from this unit 1 Press [>SELECT<] repeatedly to select “DMP”. •• The server selection screen will be displayed. 2 Press [ ], [ ] to select a media server on the network, and then press [OK]. •• The folder/content selection screen will be displayed. Operations Playing back Internet Radio and Podcasts This unit supports an audio broadcasting service transmitted via the Internet, and Internet Radio and Podcasts can be played back. ■■Preparation •• Complete the network settings. (⇒ 28) Make sure that the network is connected to the Internet. 1 Press [>SELECT<] repeatedly to select “Internet Radio” / “Podcasts”. •• When “Internet Radio” / “Podcasts” is selected as the source, this unit will automatically try and connect to the last selected station.

Operations Using AirPlay You can play back music stored on iOS device, etc. using AirPlay. ■■Preparation •• Complete the network settings. Operations Playing back music using Spotify Connect This unit is compatible with Spotify Connect for the online music service (Spotify). You can play music from the music streaming service of Spotify by operating your smartphone, tablet, etc. ■■Preparation •• Complete the network settings. (⇒ 28) Make sure that the network is connected to the Internet. •• Connect the device to be used to the network of this unit. Use your phone, tablet or computer as a remote control for Spotify. Go to spotify.

Network standby “Standby Mode” When this function is set to “On”, then this unit automatically turns on in the following cases. When a Bluetooth® connection is established to this unit from a paired Bluetooth® device. Changing the character encoding “E Asian Character” You can change the character encoding of track names, artist names and other information when they are not displayed as they should be. Type 1(日本): Priority is given to Japanese. (default) Type 2(简体字): Priority is given to Chinese (Simplified). Touch switch setting “Touch Switch” Activate/deactivate the touch-switch controlling. •• The factory default is “On”. Firmware updates “F/W Update” Occasionally, Panasonic may release updated firmware for this unit that may add or improve the way a feature operates. Others Troubleshooting Before requesting service, make the following checks. If you are uncertain about some of the check points, or if the solutions indicated in the following guide do not resolve the issue, then consult your dealer for instructions. Heat buildup of this unit This unit becomes warm while in use. •• Be careful when touching the bottom of this unit because the bottom of this unit may be hot. For installation or unit care, disconnect the AC mains lead, wait for at least 3 minutes.
To restore all the settings to the factory defaults When the following situations occur, reset the memory: •• There is no response when buttons are pressed. •• You want to clear and reset the memory contents. 1 Press [SETUP]. 2 Press [ ], [ ] repeatedly to select “Initialization” and then press [OK]. 3 Press [ ], [ ] to select “Yes” and then press [OK]. •• A confirmation screen appears. Select “Yes” in the following steps to restore all the settings to defaults.
A “humming” sound can be heard during playback. •• An AC mains lead of another device or fluorescent light is near the cables. Turn off other appliances, or keep them away from the cables of this unit. •• A strong magnetic field near a TV or other device may adversely affect the audio quality. Keep this unit away from such a location. •• The speakers may output noise when a device nearby is emitting powerful radio waves, such as when a mobile phone is on a call. No sound.
Disc Incorrect display or play does not start. •• Make sure that the disc is compatible with this unit. (⇒ 106) •• There is moisture on the lens. Wait for about an hour and then try again. •• Unfinalised CD-R and CD-RW cannot be played back. •• WMA/MP3 is not supported. Refer to “Notes on CDs” (⇒ 106) for information about the discs this unit can play back. Playback takes time to start. •• It may take some time for the disc to load if there are a lot of tracks on it. Radio DAB+ reception is poor.
USB The USB drive or its contents cannot be read. •• The USB drive format or its contents is/are not compatible with the unit. (⇒ 107) No response when [ ] is pressed. •• Disconnect the USB device and then reconnect it. Alternatively, turn the unit to standby and on again. Slow operation of the USB flash drive. •• Large file size or high memory USB flash drive takes longer time to read. •• It may take some time if there are a lot of files or folders on it. Cannot display the information properly.
Network Cannot connect to the network. •• Confirm the network connection and settings. (⇒ 28) •• If the network is set to be invisible, make the network visible while you set up the network for this unit or make a wired LAN connection. •• This system’s Wi-Fi security supports WPA2™. Your wireless router must therefore be WPA2™ compatible. For details on the security supported by your router and how to change the settings, please refer to the operating instructions or contact your internet service provider.
Playback does not start. The sound is interrupted. •• If using the 2.4 GHz band on the wireless router, simultaneous use with other 2.4 GHz devices, such as microwaves, cordless telephones, etc., may result in connection interruptions. Increase the distance between this unit and these devices. If your wireless router supports 5 GHz band, try using the 5 GHz band. •• Do not place this system inside a metal cabinet, for it might block the Wi-Fi signal.
Music streaming service Playback does not start. The sound is interrupted. •• The station that does not broadcast cannot be played back. (It will be skipped or return to the list.) •• Internet Radio may not be played back properly depending on the network condition. •• Depending on the internet connection environment, the sound may be interrupted or it may take some time to play back. •• Internet Radio is an audio broadcasting service transmitted via the Internet.
Touch switches The touch switches do not work. The touch switch operations are not done properly. •• The touch switch operation may be disabled. Check the setting. (⇒ 90) •• If this unit detects an abnormality of the touch switches such as putting any objects on or applying too much force on the touch switch, the switches may not work temporarily. Wait for at least 5 seconds, then press the touch switch again. If the touch switch cannot be activated, turn this unit off and then on.
Empty •• The selected folder is empty. Move tracks into the folder and retry the operation. •• The server is not found on the network. Check to see if the server is connected to the same network as this unit, and retry the connection to this unit. (⇒ 28) •• No Internet Radio station is registered to the favourite list. Add a station to the list. (⇒ 62) •• No station or playlist is registered to [FAV]. Add an item to the list. (⇒ 81) Error •• Incorrect operation is performed.
No Device •• No USB device is connected. •• Connect the USB device to be played. (⇒ 51) •• The connected USB device is not supported. •• The format of the file on the USB device is not supported. For supported formats, refer to “File format”. (⇒ 115) No Disc •• No CD is inserted. •• Insert the disc to be played (⇒ 38). No Network Available •• This unit is not connected to the network. •• Check the network connection. (⇒ 28) No Play •• The disc cannot be played back.
Unlocked •• “OPT” is selected, but no device is connected. Check the connection with the device. (⇒ 55) •• The sampling frequency components, etc. of the audio signals are not input correctly.
