There is a difference in sound quality between Dolby Pro Logic and Dolby Pro Logic II. Adjust the delay time for Dolby Digital when “DIGITAL IN” is selected as the source when connected with a satellite receiver or for Dolby Pro Logic II when Dolby Pro Logic II is turned on. Adjust the Dolby Digital delay time settings from the SETUP menu when not using a “DIGITAL IN” source (➡ page 34).

Troubleshooting guide Before requesting service, make the below checks. If you are in doubt about some of the check points, or if the remedies indicated in the chart do not solve the problem, consult your dealer for instructions. Power Page No power. ≥Insert the AC mains lead and system cable securely. 10 The unit is automatically switched to the standby mode. ≥The unit was switched to standby by the sleep timer. 32 No response when buttons pressed. ≥Some operations may be prohibited by the disc.
Sound No sound. Distorted sound. ≥Check the connections. ≥Turn the volume up. ≥Turn muting off. ≥Switch off the unit, determine and correct the cause, then switch the unit on. Causes include: –Shorting (bare wires touching) of positive and negative speaker wires. –Using speakers with an impedance lower than that rated for this unit. –Straining of the speakers through excessive volume or power. –Using the unit in a hot environment without proper ventilation. Humming heard during play.
Troubleshooting guide Unit displays The display is dark. ≥Press [SHIFT]i[FL DISPLAY] to brighten the display. 32 “NO PLAY” ≥You inserted a disc the unit cannot play; insert one it can. ≥You inserted a blank DVD-RAM. 5 — “NO DISC” ≥You haven’t inserted a disc; insert one. ≥You haven’t inserted the disc correctly; insert it correctly. — 14 “F61” ≥Check and correct the speaker cord connections. If this does not fix the problem, there is a power supply problem. Consult the dealer.
Glossary Decoder WMA, MP3, CD text and JPEG information A decoder restores the coded audio signals on DVDs to normal. This is called decoding. ≥Discs must conform to ISO9660 level 1 or 2 (except for extended formats). ≥This unit is compatible with multi-session but if there are a lot of sessions it takes more time for play to start. Keep the number of sessions to a minimum to avoid this. ≥The order tracks appear in the menus may differ to the order shown on your computer.
