2 Locating Locating STEP How you set up your speakers can affect the bass and the sound field. Note the following points. ≥Place speakers on flat secure bases. ≥Placing speakers too close to floors, walls, and corners can result in excessive bass. Cover walls and windows with thick curtains. ≥The left and right speaker pairs are the same with respect to the front and surround speakers.
3 STEP Connecting speakers with the subwoofer Connecting speakers with the subwoofer ≥Attach the speaker-cable stickers to make connection easier. ≥The terminals of the subwoofer have high output power. Carefully connect the speaker wires. [Note] ≥Never short-circuit positive (i) and negative (j) speaker wires. ≥Be sure to connect only positive (copper) wires to positive (i) terminals and negative (silver) wires to negative (j) terminals. Incorrect connection can damage the speakers.
4 STEP Video connections Video connections ≥Do not connect through the video cassette recorder. Due to copy guard protection, the picture may not be displayed properly. ≥Turn the television off before connecting, and refer to the television’s operating instructions.

∫ FM frequency step Manual tuning Main unit only You can change the FM step. The step is factory-set to 0.2 MHz, but you can change it to receive broadcasts allocated in 0.1-MHz steps. Operating the television and the video cassette recorder You can use the remote control to operate a Panasonic television or a video cassette recorder. Connect your equipment referring to “Connection example” (‹ page 28). [Note] The remote control may not work properly with some models.
