Turn on/off the power of the extension unit
Turn on the power of the exten-
sion unit
Turn on the power of the extension unit before turning on the
power of the recorder.
1 Insert the power plug into an outlet.
120 V AC 60 Hz, for the NTSC model
220 V to 240 V AC 50 Hz, for the PAL model
Use the power source that is suited to your model.
2 Press the POWER switch on the rear of the extension
unit to turn on the power.
• TheOPERATEindicatorwilllightandthesystemcheck
(checking the system and hard disk drives) will start.
• The"WJ-HDE400"indicationwillbedisplayedonthe
LCD at startup.
• Whenthesystemcheckiscomplete,operational
mode display will be displayed on the LCD. (Page 19)
Turn off the power of the exten-
sion unit
Turn off the power of the extension unit after turning off the
power of the recorder. Refer also to the manuals provided with
the recorder.
1 Stop recording on the recorder.
• Stopallrecordingsonthenetworkdiskrecorder.
• Stopallplaybacks.
2 Turn off the power of the recorder by pressing the
POWER switch at the rear of the network disk
recorder.
Turn off the power of the network disk recorder after con-
firming that all the HDD access indicators are off. The
OPERATE indicator on the network disk recorder will go
off.
3 Turn off the power of the extension unit by pressing
the POWER switch at the rear.
Turn off the power of the extension unit after confirming
that all the HDD access indicators are off. The OPERATE
indicator on the extension unit will go off.
Important:
• Donotturnoffthepowerintheprocessofrecovery.Itmay
result in recovery failure.
• Removetheplugfromtheoutletifnotoperatingtheexten-
sion unit for a length of time.
• Whentheextensionunithasnotbeenusedforacertain
period, turn on the power (approximately once a week)
and perform recording/playback to prevent interferences
with functions.
