Connecting the Theater Bypass / Amp Input
Connect your surround sound receiver or processor's Left, Right & Sub(s) preamp output jacks to
the HINT 6’s Left, Right & Sub Bypass Input jacks. With a single subwoofer you can use either the
HINT 6 Sub 1 or Sub 2 Input jack. Connect your left and right speakers to the HINT 6 Left and
Right Speaker Output terminals. Connect your subwoofer(s) to the HINT 6 Sub Output jack(s).
The HINT 6 Bypass Inputs should not be connected directly to any source component with a
fixed output level. Examples are CD players, most Blu-ray/DVD players, tape decks or
tuners. Since there is no volume control with the Bypass input the full voltage output from
the source will go directly to the HINT 6 power amplifier. The sound level could be extremely
high and could damage your speakers.
Note: Even when the HINT 6 is turned off its Bypass L, R & Sub RCA Input jacks are connected
directly to its L, R & Sub RCA Preamp Output jacks. The HINT 6 must be turned on for the
Balanced XLR outputs to function.
