Buber IGNITION ignition of the 5000-2 Automatic is by an electric spark system. To light the grill ar any of the hotplate humdingers; simply push in and wrm the appropriate control rob in an anti-clockwise direction, press the ignition button on the fascia pane until the boomer lights.
THE GRILL When the grill control is trend on and the ignition bunion pressed in, the gas will fight from the sparks produced at the electrode, which i positioned at the right hand end of the grill burner. (Fig. 2.} The gill pan grist is large enough to cook up to cit tam chops of to toast three stiles of bread from a lags loaf, and is reversible 1o provide two cooking positions to suit different kinds of fond.
THE GRILL PAN The grill pan has two hooked clips which fit round the outer runners of the grill shelf, so that the grill pan can be pulled out and main safely connected and supported on the grill shelf leaving both hands free 1o chin, baste or serve the food, The food mey be sensed straight onto the plates, which have been placed © warm on the recess in the top of the grill canopy. To Remove the Grill Pan {a) Using both handles push the girl! pan back as far as possible towards the splash back.
THE HOTPLATE When a hotplate control is turned on and the ignition button pressed in, the burner will it farm the sparks produced at the electrode which is positioned inside the burner, {Fig. 5). When placing, always position evenly our the burner pot, see Fig. § All four hotplate burners are the same and have controls of s unique design based on a different principle from conventional contrails.

To ensure that you obtain the best results farm the cleaning pried. tum the oven thermostat to mark 5 for at east 30 mind. 10 make sure that the fat splashes have been absorbed by the special cooing. Then tum the thermostat up to mark 7 for about 2 hairs or unfit the oven is presentably clean. Before carrying out the heat cleaning period, remove the vane shelves.
Replacing Linings When replacing removable linings please refer to the following diagrams to ensues cor eat positioning 1. OVEN LIGHT To operate the oven light, press the switch (Fig. 1), Press in again to turn off the fight.
HOW TO USE THE OVEN CONTROLS FOR MANUAL COOKING 1. Range the oven shelves and place the prepared dishes on them (see chart pages 23 and 24}, 2. Close the oven door. Turn the oven control (Fig. 1) to gas mark 8, the boomer will now light, then tum the oven control back 1o the gas mark required for cooking. When the oven control is turned on, sparking will occur at all burners until salt flames appear an the oven burner, Once small flames are established, sparking will cease.

After the cooking time has elapsed, {1 hour), all clocks will show tha same time, and the oven burner will turn selfish off. The automatic neon (A} will glow unit the cooker is again st to manual. AUTOMATIC COOKING HINTS With an automatic oven timer you can range your day more conveniently longer necessary o be on hand to light the oven burner, or to turn it off when cooking is finished.
Soups, Casseroles, Stews Make up according ta the recipe, and cook as soon as possible after preparation. During warm weather dishes made of cooked meat, milk of fish tend to go off rather quickly. To prevent deterioration these dishes should be kept in the refrigerator until transferred fo the oven. Root Vegetables Serb, peel and cul in quarters or slices. Turk into a pocking dish and cover completely with cold salted sweats.
Fried Bread Brush the sliced bread with melted fat and cask in an uncovered baking dish, or cook tapped with bacon rashers omitting the additional fat. Cook at gas mark 6 for 15--30 minutes. Mushrooms Clean, slice and cook ins a covered dish with a generous rebuke of butter, well seasoned with salt and pepper. Cook at gas mark 8 for 15~ 20 minutes. Tomatoes Wash, dry and ook whole in a well buttered dish, o cut in half, season with salt and pepper, and top each haft with a small pat of butter.
RECIPE TEMPERATURE CHART The following chart is intended to be helpful if using a gas oven for the first time o when using a recipe which says "tusk at 350°F” or "use a moderately hot oven” etc. The temperatures quoted a only a guide, they are not actual temperatures i the oven, APPROX. OVEN COOKING CHART The following chair gives you guidance for when cooking a number of everyday foods. However, for convenience (to accommodate an extra deep dish for instance} of to brown and cook food to your liking you may alter the shelf position of the Gas Mark. Always leave at least one runner position between the shelves to allow the hast to circulate proper.
CARE AND CLEANING Do read through the following chart carefully. An unsuitable cleaning preparation can do more harm than good. BEFORE DOING ANY EXTENSIVE CLEANING, SWITCH OFF AND DISCONNECT THE PLUG FROM THE ELECTRICITY SUPPLY AND ALLOW THE COOKER TO COOL. After cleaning remember 1 reconnect the cooker to the electricity supply and correct the time-of-day clock.

INSTALLATION NOTE : The hotplate burner caps, splash back screws, gas inlet elbow, grill pan brackets. screws, plates and washers, are all packed in a plastic bag inside the oven compartment. 1. GRILL ASSEMBLY The four splash back screws should be . screwed into the back of the cooker about Fig half way in (Fig. 1). Engage the keyhole slots in the splash back behind the four screws, and tighten the screws, Connect the grill supply union at the back of the cooker, Uncoil the grill H.T.
2. LEVELING THE COOKER Adjustable leveling fest at the front, and wheels at the rear are provided on the base ot the cooker, Adjustment to suit floor conditions is obtained by rotating in or out the hexagonal feat at the front of the cooker from the underside of the cooker, and by screwing in or out the wheels at the rear of the cooker from inside the storage compartment. NOTE: The lockouts on the wheel adjusters are reached through the bottom compartment.

CONNECTING TO GAS This cooker is designed 1o be installed with an appliance flexible gas connection, Supply piping should not be less than R (3” Connection is made to the R% (4" male threaded entry pipe located just below the hotplate level on thereat right-hand side of the cooker. {A 1" female elbow is provided).
Fit a 3-pin 13 amp plug to the end of the cooker cable (Fig. Connect the wires as follows: BROWN to the Live Terminal, BLUE to the Neutral Terminal. GREEN and YELLOW to the Earth Terminal.
10. CHECKING THE HOTPLATE. Fit the burner caps to the hotplate burner pots with the caps evenly seated on the pots. Check that all the burners ignite satisfactorily, in & similar manner to the grill ignition check. {Section 9). If ignition does not work, refer to Fault Finding instructions, pages 1410 18, 11. CHECKING THE OVEN CONTROLS. GENERAL NOTE.
MANUAL OPERATION, Set the center {start) dial to the seem time as the time of day clock, by depressing and turning the central knob of this dial, the knob will spring out when the dial is correctly set. Set the left-hand ‘stop dial’ to the same time as the time of day clock. This is done done by depressing end turning the central knob of this dial, the knob will spring out when the dial is correctly set. Re-depress the left-hand knob and depress and yurt“ the oven control to setting No. 9.
8. Slacken off the door cater hocking nut and transfer the catch to the opposite side of the door frame. The catch must be locked in position the opposite way up. Screw the door hinges 1o the opposite side of the cover. Remove the door seal which is now along the bottom of the door. Invert and locate the curved end into the hale in the tap of the door and slip the straight end into the hole in the other side of the door.

B8O SERVICING NOTES DISCONNECT ELECTRICITY SUPPLY BEFORE SERVICING. NOTE: Tum off gas supply before servicing any gas carrying components. After servicing turn on gas and check for soundness.
Al = o REMOVAL OF FASCIA PANEL. Remove all gas control knobs. Remove two screws located on front of fascia panel. Pull off wires connected to switches. Tuck the leads into the space between the gas rel and the top of the oven to prevent damage to the leads by the oven door. Remove the fascia panel from the cooker. Replace in reverse order ensuring that the black wire is connected to the oven fight switch and the yellow wire is connected to the ignition switch. REMOVAL OF HOTPLATE.
D2. Dismantling Oven Door. 1. Remove oven door by undoing the four screws attaching the hinges to the oven front frame. Place door on & flat surface with outer glass panel uppermost, and pull off door knob, Remove top and bottom hinges by removing two screws from each, Remove top and bottom trims by removing remaining two screws {one top and one bottom) from trims, Rise door handle bezel off, using a small screwdriver. Lift off outer glass panel, then turn door over. Remove door catch {two Screws).

Tum oven control knob to "OFF' position and turn off gas supply, and electric supply. Removal hotplate {See Section Remove by-pass screw located on the underside of the thermostat using a 4BA spanner and clean or replace as required. Re-assemble in reverse sequence, ensuring by-pass screw ‘0’ ring is correctly located on the by-pass screw. Check for leaks before replacing fascia panel.
E5. To Service Spindle End of Thermostat (Eddington) NOTE: Ths oven control is lubricated for life during assembly, and the following procedure should only be necessary if the control is dismantled for cleaning, etc. 1. Remove thermostat (See Section E1). 2. Undo the countersunk head switch retaining screw and withdraw the switch, noting which is the front face. Unscrew the two M3 overdrive screws and pull forward the switch bracket and cam cover assembly. 3. Gently pull the spindle forward from the body.
G. GRILL TAP REMOVAL. Turn off gas supply and electric supply, Remove hotplate (See Section’B’). Disconnect grill supply pipe from rear of tap, Remove the two screws retaining the gas tep to the gas rail. Re-assemble in reverse order, ensuring that the sealing ring is between theta and the gas rail and that the tap is at right angles to the rail. Test for leaks before rapping fascia panel. O RE-GREASE TAPS. 1. Turn off gas and electricity supplies. 2. Remove fascia panel {See Section 3.
K. TO CLEAN OVEN BURNER. 1. Repeat operations 1-4 of Section T 2. l Insert probe into any blocked ports and shake out foreign matter taking care not to disturb the electrode or the F.F.D, phial, 3. Repeat operation 6 of Section ', L. TO REPLACE FLAME FAILURE DEVICE VALVE. 1. Repeat operations 1-4 of Section’J". Separate phial from bracket. 2. Remove injector and washer. Note position of valve body. 3. Remove lockout from injector carrier and remove valve from burner carrier.
N. TO REPLACE SPARK IGNITION SWITCH OR OVEN LIGHT SWITCH. 2. 3. 4, Remove fascia panel as described in Section"A’. Unscrew the three screws securing the switch assembly to the fascia. Rise the faulty switch from out of the switch bracket (this action may destroy the faulty switch). Fit new switch assembly and re-assemble in reverse order, re-wire as described in Section ‘A’ 0. TO REPLACE OVEN LIGHT BULB. Disconnect from electricity supply. Open over door remove inner glass door, and remove oven shelves.
R. TO REPLACE H.T. IGNITION LEADS. 32 1. onp REPLACE OVEN ELECTRODE. 1. 2. Disconnect from electricity supply, pull cooker forward and disconnect from gas. Remove hotplate as: described in Section "B, Remove one screw from spark unit cover at rear of appliance and remove cover, Pull off six H.T, wires from spark generator. Pauli off H.T. wires from grill and oven electrodes. . Re-assemble H.T. leads in reverse order. (See Fig. 22.) . TO REPLACE NEON. Repeat operations 1-4 of Section M.
W. TO REPLACE HOTPLATE TRAY/HOTPLATE BURNERS. Remove hotplate complete {See Section B). From underside of hotplate remove 2 nuts and the earthing connection from each burner. Remove trims and burners from hob sub-assembly. Re-assemble in reverse order fitting the silicons rubber gasket between hob and gate burner with the rib of the gasket against the burner. The trim studs should be pushed through the gasket noting that ths studs and holes are not equip-spaced and will only assemble one way round.
