INSTRUCTIONS
Notes: Hat is worked sideways.
Ch 2 at beg of rows does not
count as hdc.
Ch 68.
Foundation row: 1 hdc in 3rd
ch from hook. 1 hdc in each ch to
last 8 sts. 1 sc in each of next 8 ch.
Turn.
1st row: Ch 1. 1 scbl in each of
next 8 sts. 1 hdc in horizontal bar
created below st in previous row
(bar is below loops normally
worked on WS-see diagram) in
each of next 58 hdc. Turn.
2nd row: Ch 2. 1 hdc in horizontal
bar created below st in previous
row in each of next 58 hdc. 1 scbl
in each of next 8 sts. Turn.
Rep these 2 rows until work from
beg measures approx 20" [51 cm],
when slightly stretched. Fasten
off, leaving a long end. Weave
end through last scbl of each
row along top edge and gather
tightly. Sew back seam.
