CONVERTIBLE ISLAND PENDANT (
WITH CHAIN OR WITHOUT CHAIN)
For Island pendant with chain Instructions:
1.
Carefully unpack and identify each part to make sure you have everything ready for installation. Lay out each part on a clean flat area such
as a table or the carpet.
2.
Shut down the main electrical supply from the fuse box or circuit breaker in your house or building.
3. Fasten the mounting strip onto the outlet box using 2 outlet box screws.
4. Thread the threaded tube into center hole of mounting strip about 4 complete turns. Lock in place with lock washer and hex nut. This
threaded tube should extend long enough to protrude through the canopy when it is mounted. (Adjust as needed)
5. Fasten two decorative parts to both sides of the fixture body.
6. Using a pair of pliers, twist open one chain link at the end of chain links and repeat this step for the other chain. Hook the chains to each
loop of the loop assembly and close the chain links. Place a piece of cloth between the jaws of pliers and the chain link to prevent
scratching the finish.
7. Using a pair of pliers, twist open the chain link at the other end of the chain. Hook the whole loop assembly to the loops of the canopy and
close the chain link. Place a piece of cloth between the jaws of pliers and the chain link to prevent scratching the finish.
8.
Guide fixture wire through one arm of the loop assembly, and then hook the two arms between the lower loops and fixture loops of the
fixture body.
9.
Weave the fixture wires up through one of the chain links, through the loop of the canopy and insert it into the canopy. Position both, the
outlet box supply wires and the fixture wires outside of the outlet box to facilitate connection.
10.
Connect the wire from the fixture to the power supply wire from the outlet box. Cover with the wire connectors.
A. Twist together the glossy / live wire from the fixture with the black wire from the outlet box. Cover with the wire connector.
B. Twist together the rough / neutral wire from the fixture with the white wire from the outlet box. Cover with the wire connector.
Note: The Glossy/Live wire has a text printed on it; the Rough/Neutral wire has a ridge.
C. The bare copper grounding wire from the fixture must loop one turn under the head of green screw on mounting strip before it is
connected to the grounding conductor of the supply circuit.
11. Carefully position all wirings inside the outlet box.
12. Place the canopy over the outlet box, let the threaded tube come through the hole of the canopy, then tighten the hex nut and finial to the
protruding threaded tube on the mounting strip until the canopy is held firmly against the ceiling.
13.
Unscrew the socket rings from the sockets. Set the glass shades onto each socket and secure using socket rings.
14.
Install the bulbs (Bulbs are not included). Use 60-watt maximum type A bulbs.
15.
Turn on the electrical power in your house or building to test the pendant lamp. Save these instructions for future use
Cleaning
Use only a soft cloth to dust and clean your new lamp. Do not use any chemicals, polishes or abrasives.
