for residenal and commercial load bearing deck applicaons, in
compliance with AISI S100 “North American Specicaon for the
Design of Cold-Formed Steel Structural Members” referenced in:
a) Internaonal Building Code® (IBC) (2009-2015)
b) 2012 Internaonal Residenal Code (“IRC”).
VALIDATION. Conformance to AISI S100 validated by Dr. Roger A.
LaBoube, Ph.D., Department of Civil Engineering and director of
the Wei-Wen Yu Center for Cold-Formed Steel Structures at the
Missouri University of Science and Technology, and Porcupine
Engineering (Ontario) to CSA S136. PAVERDECK

panels conform to code report PER-15098 issued by PEI Evaluaon
Services.
CERTIFICATION. Cered by Underwriters Laboratory pursuant to
W446 (UL USA) U417 (ULC Canada).
TESTING. Full-scale independent tesng completed by Innovave
Test Soluons (Newmarket, Ontario) per ISO/IEC 17025:2005 A2LA
accreditaon. Remained elasc at total load combinaons to 256
psf @ 8- clear span. Failure tested to 560 psf @ 8- clear span
without collapse.
VARIATIONS FROM SPECIFICATION. Any item not specically
addressed herein shall comply with the regional building code as
applicable. Contact Evoluondeck Inc. for specic loading criteria
or consideraons.

DELIVERY, STORAGE, AND HANDLING. Product may be stored
outside, but protect and store cold-formed steel framing from
corrosion, moisture staining, deformaon, and other damage
during delivery, storage, and handling as required in AISI’s “Code
of Standard Pracce”.
STANDARD SPECIFICATION. The Paverdeck product is
manufactured to a single geometric conguraon in lengths of
10, 12, or 14 . The standard deck joist height is 6.25 inches and
minimum uncoated thickness is 0.054in. System components are
made from galvanized sheet steel as per ASTM A653/A653M-98
Z275 (G90), with a minimum yield strength of 50 ksi.
STRUCTURAL COMPONENTS.
• STARTER CHANNEL: Galvanized Steel SSMA 600S162-054
• PAVERDECK PANEL: EDECK 625S1200-054. Integrated joist
diaphragm panels manufactured by Evoluondeck Inc.
with 6.25 inch joist depth, web-to-web spacing from 10-12
inches, and 0.054 in material thickness. Lengths from 10,
12, 14 . Designed as eld panels and end-panel.
• BEAMS/LEDGER. SSMA 1000S300-97 galvanized CFS
steel, or equiv. (to max clear span < 10). Include beam
web sener SSMA 600S162-54 at locaon of foongs.
Alternave soluons include painted structural iron
conforming to Grade 350 W steel in ASTM A6 , or wood
beams for exterior applicaons (with intermediate isolaon
membrane) to be sized by a qualied designer.
VIBRATION. Vibraon serviceability design calculated as F =
18/√(∆mm), where ∆ = midspan deflection based on live loading.
DEAD LOAD. PAVERDECK

steel system has a dead load of 5 psf,
excluding the surface nish.
MAX. CLEAR SPAN BETWEEN BEAMS. 12- based on min. L/360
service deecon (Residenal), 10- otherwise.
MAX. CANTILEVER. 39in. based on L/360 service deecon.
CONCENTRATED LOADS. 1045 lbs over an area of 30in x 30in. Larger
concentrated loads can be achieved by inserng seners under the

with the regional code. Where permissible, deck may
be installed on grade using 20x20” concrete pads. Frost
foongs include: (1) 10-inch diameter concrete columns on
foong forms; (2) lled concrete block on concrete foong
pads; (3) helical pile foundaon systems. Soil capacity by
others.
