Motherboard Power Connectors
The power supply connector on any PC / XT or PC / AT compatible motherboard is
made up of dual six-pin male connectors. Two female connectors from the power
supply plug directly onto these male connectors. The following diagrams illustrate
the proper method of attaching the connectors.
Ensure that the black wires are located next to each other in the center of the two
connectors (as shown in the diagram below), and that the clamps on the back side of
the connectors are secured along the PCB header. All pins should be covered.
Warning: Connecting the power supply incorrectly may cause irreversible
(unwarranted) damage! Ensure that the power is turned off before
connecting the power supply. Make certain that the 115 / 230VAC fuse
drawer is in the correct position.
