The Bluet oot h radio is designed t o be int eroperable wit h any Bluetoot h
technology product t hat is based on frequency hopping spread spect rum (FHSS)
radio t echnology and com plies wit h t he Bluet oot h Specificat ion Version 2.1.
The Bluet ooth radio, like ot her radio devices, em it s radio frequency
elect rom agnetic energy. The lev el of energy em it ted by t his dev ice, howev er, is
less t han t he elect rom agnetic energy em it t ed by ot her wireless dev ices such as
m obile phones. The Bluet ooth r adio dev ice oper at es wit hin t he guidelines found
in radio frequency safety st andards and r ecom m endat ions. These st andards and
recom m endat ions reflect t he consensus of t he scient ific com m unit y and result
from deliberations of panels and com m it t ees of scient ist s who cont inually review
and int erpret t he ext ensive research lit erature. I n som e sit uat ions or
environm ent s, t he use of a Bluetooth radio device m ay be restricted by t he
propriet or of the building or responsible represent at ives of t he applicable
organization. Examples of such sit uations include t he following:
z Using the Bluet oot h radio equipm ent onboard airplanes, or
z Using the Bluetoot h r adio equipm ent in any ot her env ironm ent where t he
risk of int erference wit h other devices or services is perceived or ident ified
as being harm ful.
I f uncert ain of t he policy that applies t o the use of wireless dev ices in a specific
organizat ion or environm ent ( an airport, for exam ple) , ask for authorization t o
use t he Bluet oot h radio dev ice before turning it on.
