4.5 Rotary field indication
The voltage tester is equipped with a two-pole rotary field indicator.
The phase sequence detection is always active. The symbols R or
L are always displayed. However, the direction of rotation can only
be determined within a three-phase system.
Connect the probe "L2" to the presumed phase L2
and the probe "L1" with the presumed phase L1.
The voltage and the rotating field direction are over the
corresponding LEDs are displayed.
"R" means that the putative phase L1 is the actual phase
L1 and the presumed phase L2 is the actual phase L2,
this results in a right spin field. "L" means the
putative phase L1 the actual phase L2
and the suspected phase L2 is the actual phase L1,
this results in a left spin field. When rechecking with
exchanged probes must have the opposite symbol
came on.
4.6 Low impedance measurement
This feature is especially useful for testing electrical equipment.
Due to the lower internal impedance, the capacitive voltage display
is suppressed. The display shows the currently applied voltage.
When measuring phase "L1" via earth "PE", residual current circuit
breakers (FI or RCD) can be triggered.
To trigger the RCD, simultaneously press the low impedance test
buttons during the voltage test. If an RCD with a turn-off
characteristic of 10 mA or 30 mA / 230V is installed in the circuit, it
will trip.
