Note  the  oil  level  visible  in  the  sight
glass.
When correct, oil should be visible in the
sight-glass at a point mid-way between
the  upper  (maximum)  and  lower
(minimum)  horizontal  lines  marked  on
the crankcase.
If  necessary,  top  up  the  oil  level  as
described earlier.
Once the correct level is reached, fit and
tighten the filler plug.
Oil and Oil Filter Change

The  engine  oil  and  filter  must  be
replaced  in  accordance  with  scheduled
maintenance requirements.
Warm  up  the  engine  thoroughly,  and
then  stop  the  engine  and  secure  the
motorcycle  in  an  upright  position  on
level ground.
Place  an  oil  drain  pan  beneath  the
engine.
Remove the oil drain plug.
Unscrew  and  remove the oil  filter using
Triumph  service  tool  T3880313.  Dispose
of  the  old  filter  in  an  environmentally
friendly way.
Apply a thin smear of clean engine oil to
the sealing  ring  of the  new oil  filter.  Fit
the oil filter and tighten to 10 Nm.
After the oil has completely drained out,
fit  a  new  sealing  washer  to  the  drain
plug. Fit and tighten the plug to 25 Nm.
Fill the engine with a 10W/40 or 10W/50
semi  or  fully  synthetic  motorcycle
engine  oil  that  meets  specification
API SH (or higher) and JASO MA, such as
Castrol Power 1  Racing 4T  10W-40  (fully
synthetic)  engine  oil,  sold  as
Castrol Power RS  Racing 4T  10W-40
(fully synthetic) in some countries.
Start the engine and allow it to idle for a
minimum of 30 seconds.
Warning
Prolonged  or  repeated  contact  with
engine  oil  can  lead  to  skin  dryness,
irritation  and  dermatitis.  In  addition,
used  engine  oil  contains  harmful
contamination  that  can  lead  to  skin
cancer.  Always  wear  suitable
protective  clothing  and  avoid  skin
contact with used oil.

Warning
The oil may be hot to the touch. Avoid
contact  with  the  hot  oil  by  wearing
suitable  protective  clothing,  gloves,
eye  protection,  etc.  Contact  with  hot
oil may cause the skin to be scalded or
burned.
