INSTALLING THE ALARMCLEAR SERVICE TO MONITOR COM1 PORT
1. Go to the Files directory.
2. Copy all of the files into a permanent location (from which the service will run).
3. Run the alarmclear.cmd to execute the alarmclearbystring.sql against the database.
4. Run the alarmautoClear.cmd to install the AlarmClear service.
NOTES:
You must be logged on with administrator permissions to perform this installation.
If there is an error, edit the alarmautoClear.cmd file and verify that the path to installutil.exe is valid.
The user name is “.\DSServiceUser" and the password is the DSServiceUser’s password.
5. Go to the Services tab and start the DigitalSentry Serial Alarm Clear Service.
6. If running x64 then run AlarmAutoClear64.reg, otherwise run the 32 version.
MONITORING ANOTHER COM PORT
1. Stop the DigitalSentry Serial Alarm Clear Service.
2. Open regedit, and then go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Integral Technologies, Inc.\DigitalSentry\AlarmAutoClear.
3. Change the options to the port to be monitored.
4. Restart the service.
CONFIGURING VIDEOSERVER
1. Open DSAdmin.
2. Add a Zone. The name must be a two-digit number (for example, 20).
3. Click the Serial Input tab for the zone, and then add the text. (for example, 20Ea).
4. Save the zone.
5. Click the VAU.
6. Click the Serial Ports tab.
7. Add a COM port to the “Assigned COM ports” list. You must use a different COM port than the one assigned to the AlarmClear service.
8. Click Interface Type, and then select Monitor.
9. If necessary, select the check box to ensure that it is active.
10. Open the Alarm Text tab and add a line item (for example, 20Ea).
11. Restart the VideoServer.
CONFIGURING DS CONTROLPOINT
1. 1. From the Setup menu, select Application Settings, and then select General.
2. Select “Automatically clear acknowledged system alarms.”
3. Click “Save.”
NOTES:
When an ASCII string of “XXEa” comes in (for example, on COM1), the zone alarm is triggered through VideoServer.
When an ASCII string of “XXIa” comes in (for example, on COM2), the service will intercept this command and clear the alarm in the
database.
When CP recognizes that the alarm being displayed has been cleared, it will remove the item from the alarm page.
