Storm Door Components NOTE: Actual door styles may vary from illustrations, however, the installation steps will be the same. 1 Turn door so the interior faces up. Remove any shipping clips or retainer strips. Remove screen. Set aside lockbody and loose parts. Remember this is the INTERIOR SIDE of the door ft Li Snap Install Both Top and Bottom Install Both Left and Right 2 Set glass insert into opening with “Exterior Side” sticker facing down. 3 Install the short retainer strips into the top and bottom channels. 4 Install the long retainers into the side channels.

5 Locate the rail extenders. Slide the rail extender into the bottom of the hinge rail. For LEFT HINGE installation, use the rail extender marked with an “L”. For RIGHT HINGE installation, use the rail extender marked with an “R”. RIGHT HINGE SHOWN LEFT HINGE SHOWN 6 Slide the bottom expander onto the bottom of the door, with the slots to the interior. Do NOT secure with screws at this time. 7 Locate the screw template in Bag A of the Closer Kit.

9 Hang storm door onto door frame using the placeholder screw. The door will settle approximately 1/16-in. Tighten screw while pushing top of hinge rail tight against the door frame. door installation screw from 10 Install Bag B in the lowest hole on the hinge rail, and secure door in opening. PUS H Qty. 1 Installation Screw #8 x 3/4-in Pan Head Actual Size 11 Slide rail extender to sill. Loosen door installation screw if needed and then retighten.

13 Push door tight against door frame. Install door installation screws from Bag B on the outer face of the hinge rail. Do not over tighten screws. Qty. 5 14 Cut extender weather stripping to length, remove adhesive backing and install. Installation Screw #8 x 3/4-in Pan Head Actual Size 15 Rest the drip cap on top of the door, using spacers for alignment. Close door and align the end of the drip cap with the outside edge of the hinge rail. 16 Secure drip cap with installation screws from Bag B.

18 20 19 Place latch rail tight against the drip cap. Verify that the door closes freely without hitting the latch rail. Align outside edge of the latch rail with outside edge of the drip cap. Fasten the latch rail with door installation screws from Bag B. Qty. 5 21 Slide rail extender to the sill. Installation Screw #8 x 3/4-in Pan Head Actual Size 22 Cut extender weather stripping to length, remove adhesive backing and install.

24 Install screw cover strips (1 horizontal, 2 vertical). 1 25 Close the door. Adjust the bottom expander to lightly contact the sill. Install expander screws from Bag D. Qty.

Locate the two closer bases in the closer kit. Remove and discard the hole plugs. 26 27 Determine which side to install the closers, based on your hinge installation. 28 From inside your house, measure 1-1/2-in down from the top of the hinge mounting rail and mark with a pencil. 29 Measure 1-1/2-in up from the bottom of the hinge mounting rail and mark with pencil. 30 Align the arrow on the closer base with the mark you made, and rest the base against the back of the hinge mounting rail.

33 TOP Closer Locate the top and bottom closers. One-Touch® Closer BOTTOM Closer 34 Attach jamb bracket to bottom closer with the short pin, positioning One-Touch® button facing up as shown. Leave yellow clip in place. 35 Slide top and bottom closers onto their bases. Care and Maintenance Door Cleaning Use a soft cloth with any household grease-cutting cleaner to clean the door. PLEASE NOTE: Thin marks on the painted surfaces of the door can be removed using turpentine and light rubbing with a clean cloth. IMPORTANT: DO NOT use brass polish or steel wool on the bottom expander. Use a household grease-cutting cleaner or a mild soap and water solution. PLAIN GLASS DO NOT use an ammonia-based cleaner for the first cleaning of the glass.
