There would be minimal health hazards associated with the use of Penkote® seed as the only hazardous
material used in Penkote® is Apron (Mefenoxam) The amount of Apron put on the seed is ½ ounce per 100
pounds of seed. Apron is 33.3% Mefenoxam. The amount of Mefenoxam on the seed would be one part in
9072 parts of seed. You would have to consume 9072 pounds of Penkote® seed to consume one pound of
Mefenoxam.

Effects of acute overexposure: Eye and skin irritation. Nausea, vomiting or diarrhea can occur if
swallowed.
Effects of chronic overexposure: None currently known.
Emergency First Aid Procedures for Mefenoxam
Ingestion: If victim is fully conscious, give a large quantity of water to drink and induce vomiting. Never
give anything by mouth to an unconscious person.
Eye Contact: Immediately rinse eyes with a large amount of water. Hold eye and lids apart to rinse the
entire surface of they eyes and lids. Do not apply any medicating agents except on the advice of a
physician.
Skin Contact: Wash with plenty of soap and water, including hair and under fingernails. Do not apply any
medication agents except on the advice of a physician. Remove contaminated clothing and decontaminate
prior to use.
Inhalation: Remove to fresh air and administer CPR if not breathing.
