Loosenthescrewofthebatterycompartmentlid[9]andtakeoffthelid(seefig.3).
Insert3 typeCbatteries (e.g.MN1400)into thebatterycompartment (seefig.4) .Payattention tothe
correctpolarity.
Closethebatterycompartment.
As an alternative to batteries, a suitable power supply can be used. Connect its plug to the power supply
connection[6].
Smoothoutthepressuremat,andlayitflatonthefloor.
Choose the area you want to secure e.g. within the entrance area, at the top or bottom of stairs or in
frontof an area you wanttosecure, e.g. a storeroom. Thepressuremat mustbecompletely covered with a
carpetoradoormat.
Placethepressurematunderacarpetorarunner.

Place the pressure mat where your cat usually enters the house. The pressure mat must be completely
coveredwithadoormatorasofttowelthatyourcatlikestositon(seefig.5).
Ifthefloorortheundersideofthecarpetordoormatisveryuneven,malfunctionsmayoccur.
Donotuseaverystiffcarpetordoormat,asthepressurematrespondstopunctualpressure.
The mat must always lay flat on an even surface. It must not be placed on sharp objects such as
stonechippings,asthiscanleadtomalfunctionordamagetothepressuremat.
If the mat is tobe used in a coldenvironment, lay it unfolded on aflat surface in awarm room for
severalhoursbeforethefirstuse.
Ifyoumovetheswitch[7]from"0"tochime(quietorloud),achimewillsound.
Youcanchoosebetweenfourdifferentsettings:
You can deactivate the signal by turning the switch to "0". When pressure is applied to the mat,
neitherachimenoranalarmwillsound.
Alarm readiness is confirmed by a single beep. When the pressure mat is activated, an alarm will
sound and the LEDs [2] and [3] will be flashing red. The alarm will stop automatically after 30
seconds.After that,thepressurematalarmisoperativeagain.Whenpressureisappliedtothe mat,
thealarmwillsoundagain.
Whenthe acoustic pressure matis activated, a chimewillsound and the LEDs[2] and [3] willflash
twice.
Iftheswitch[7]issetto"chime",thechimecanbesettoloud( )orquiet( ).

On smooth surfaces (e.g. tiles), make sure that the mat does not slip. If necessary, use a non-slip
underlay.

Testthefunctioningbyswitchingthealarmunitonandsteppingontothepressuremat.
Thesignal is activated only whenthealarm unit is switched onandthe mat is pressed. Aslongas a
cat sits still on the mat there will be no chime. Only when the cat stands up to leave the mat, the
chimewillsoundagain.
Theunitisespeciallysensitiveandcanalsobetriggeredbyotheranimalsorevenstrongwinds.
We recommend that the alarm unit should be switched off when it is not required, especially at
night,inordertoeliminatedisturbances.
Theradiorangeisapprox.60minopenfield.Itmaybereducedbywallsorceilings(especiallythosemade
of reinforced concrete). Do not position the pressure mat or the alarm unit on or near metal surfaces, as
thesemayshieldtheradiosignal.
Placethealarmunitwithintheradiorange.
Whenusing thepressuremat asacatdoorbell, trythemat withyourcat.If yourcatis disturbedbythe
noiseofthealarm,youshouldlocatethealarmunitfurtheraway.
Thealarmunitmaybeplacedonthefloororfixedtoawall.
Forwallmounting,usethescrewsandplugssupplied.
Drilltwoholesinhorizontalpositionwithaholespacingof36mm.
Fixtheplugs.
Thescrewsshouldnotbefullytightenedsothatthealarmunitcanbehookedonthem.
Nowhookthealarmunitontothescrews.
The battery ofthe pressure mat has alife of up to 10months at 30activations per day. When thebattery
becomesweak,thealarmunitwillsoundanacousticwarning(2xbeepbeep).
Whenthebatteriesofthealarmunitbecomeweak,thebatterywarningLED[3]willbepermanentlylit.
Replacethebatteriesassoonaspossible.
Keepthematdryinordertopreventfalsetriggering.
Incaseofabatterywarning,replacethebatteries.
Youcan clean the pressure mat and the alarm unit with a damp cloth. Do notuse any strong cleansing
agents.
Manyproblemsarecaused byadropinbatteryperformance.If youshouldhaveanyproblems,pleasetry a
newbattery!
Do not dispose of packagingmaterial, used batteries orproducts as householdwaste. Please use
yourrecyclingsystem.Detailsareavailablefromyourlocalauthority.
