Use the four-way controller (45)
to select an autofocus method,
and press the 4 button.
The camera returns to the control panel.
You can also change the setting from the [Focus Settings] (p.65) of the
[A Rec. Mode 1] menu.
[Autofocus Method] is fixed to D when the capture mode is set to
n (Auto Picture), or R (Kids) of H (Scene) mode.
[Autofocus Method] is fixed to E when the capture mode is set to
\ (Moving Object)/l (Night Snap)/Z (Pet)/n (Stage Lighting)
of H (Scene) mode.
In [AF Select (25 Points)], [Select] or [Spot] mode, you can take pictures by
fully pressing the shutter release button only when the subject is in focus.
To take pictures when the subject is not in focus, set [7. AF Release Options]
(p.68) to [Release-priority] in the [A Custom Setting 1] menu.
