PERGO Outlast+ Care and Repair
Pergo Outlast+ oors, like other ne furnishings in your home, require proper care to keep them
looking their best. When you follow our easy cleaning and maintenance instructions, you'll nd taking
care of your Pergo Outlast+ oor a snap!
Regular Maintenance
The surface layer of Pergo Outlast+ ooring is hard and compact, so dirt and dust do not adhere to it
easily. The following simple steps are usually all it takes to keep your oor clean.
For general cleaning, use a dust mop or vacuum with the correct hard surface attachment of
your vacuum cleaner.
For heavier cleaning, occasionally wet mop with water only, using a well wrung out mop.
DO NOT pour liquid directly on oor or use an excessively wet mop that will puddle or leave
moisture standing on the oor.
If needed, use a solution of 1 cup of vinegar per gallon of water OR 1 ⁄3 cup non-sudsing
ammonia per gallon of water.
A residential steam mop may be used provided the steam is applied to a microber pad and
not applied directly to the oor. Make sure to set the temperature of the steam mop to the
appropriate setting for laminate oors, or to the lowest setting. Steam mop in the length
direction of the planks only.
DO NOT use detergents, abrasive cleaners, soaps, waxes or polishes. There is never a need to
wax or renish your Pergo Outlast+ oor.
DO NOT use rotating beater bars, oor scrubbers, jet mops, buffers or similar products.
Protect the Floor
While Pergo Outlast+ is remarkably durable, there is of course no such thing as an indestructible
ooring material. There are a few simple protective measures that are important to keep your oor
looking new.
To protect your Pergo Outlast+ oor from surface scratches, place walk-off area rugs or mats
inside any exterior doorway to collect small bits of gravel that may track in on shoes.
Use felt oor protectors on the legs of chairs, sofas, TV stands, tables and other easily movable
furniture.
Replace plastic casters on chairs with rubber wheels and lift rather than slide heavy objects
across the oor.
Minor damage to a Pergo Outlast+ plank can be easily repaired with Finishing Putty. If the
damaged area is larger than 1/4 of an inch, we recommend contacting a professional to replace
an entire plank.
