Supplied cables used in this connection are as follows:
RF cable x1
Please purchase the rest of the necessary cables at your local store.
Before connecting, ensure the AC power cords of all devices are NOT connected to the AC outlets.
1 Refer to “Connecting an Antenna” on page 9 to connect the STB to an antenna.
2 Use an RF cable to connect the ANT. OUT jack on the STB to the antenna input jack on the TV.
AND/OR
Use a standard audio/video cable to connect the AUDIO/VIDEO OUT jacks on the STB to the audio/video
input jacks on the TV.
3 Plug all AC power cords into AC outlets, then turn all devices on.
4 If you want to view the analog TV channels also, make sure a conventional VHF/UHF antenna is
connected, then proceed to “Selecting RF OUT Channel” on page 19. If you want to view the digital TV
channels, select an appropriate external input channel on your TV (ch3 or ch4) (refer to your TV’s manual
for details), and also set the STB’s output channel to the corresponding channel number (3 or 4). You can
switch between 3 and 4 by holding [SETUP] down over 3 seconds or in the “Selecting RF OUT Channel”
section on page 19.
NOTE:
When using either of these connections, the resolution of the video signal output will always be 480i. This
ensures that all digital TV programming, no matter what the actual transmitted format is, will be viewable
and compatible with your analog TV.
If your TV is monaural (MONO) and has only one audio jack, connect a standard audio cable (white) from
the AUDIO OUT (white) jack on the STB to an audio input jack (white) on the TV. The red cable and jack
will not be used.
