Replacing Batteries

Both Scales use 4 AA alkaline batteries.
Procedures.
Step 1. Use the procedure for your type of scale.
Standard Scale: Lift and gently turn the scale upside down on a flat surface
to expose the Battery Compartment.

Caution If you do not feel that you can replace the batteries unassisted, contact your health
care provider.
Steady Scale: Move the scale away from the wall. Tip the scale over so that
it gently rests it on its handlebars, and you can access the bottom of the scale
and the Battery Compartment.
Step 2. Remove the cover of the Battery Compartment by lifting the tab.
Step 3. Remove the old batterie
s and properly dispose of them.
Note Check with your local authorities for the prope
r way to dispose of batteries.
Step 4. Place the new batteries in the Battery Compartment so that the positive
(+) and negative (-) terminals match the diagram in the compartment. DO
