3 Install the car audio system Connect wires Note •• Make sure that all loose leads are insulated with electrical tape. •• Consult a professional to connect wires as instructed Caution below. •• Use the controls only as stated in this user manual. Always follow the instructions in this chapter in sequence. 1 Check the car's wiring carefully and connect them to the the ISO male connectors. These instructions are for a typical installation.
2 Connect to Yellow strip To the +12V car battery which is energized at all times Tip Connect the antenna and amplifier as illustrated, if applicable. •• The pin arrangement for the ISO connectors depends on the type of your vehicle. To avoid damage to the unit, connect properly. Search for a radio station automatically Select a tuner region You can select a radio region that matches your location. 1 In radio mode, press and hold the system menu. 2 Press / repeatedly until one of the following options is displayed.
Store radio stations manually 3 Press types. 1 Press band. 4 Rotate to select a program type, and then press to confirm. 2 Tune to the radio station that you want to store. If the signal of an RDS station is poor, enable the AF (Alternate Frequency) function to search for another station that broadcasts the same program. [TA OFF]: Traffic announcement does not cut in. English • Use alternate frequencies Tip •• When a traffic announcement cuts in, you can press to switch the system to the previous mode. 1 Press and hold menu. 2 Press / repeatedly until [AF ON] or [AF OFF] is displayed. 6 Play from a storage device 2 Switch the source to [USB] or [SD/ SDHC]. • When a USB storage device is connected and recognized, the system switches the source to [USB] automatically. This system can play .mp3 and .wma files that are copied onto a compatible storage device. 3 If the play does not start, press Note •• Philips does not guarantee compatibility with all storage devices. •• NTFS (New Technology File System) file system is not supported.
During play, you can switch tracks or folders quickly. Reconnect a device Some Bluetooth devices support the automatic reconnection with a paired Bluetooth device. If your device does not support automatic reconnection, reconnect it with this system manually. 1 Press and hold menu. 2 Press repeatedly until [DISCONNECT] is displayed.

Pick up an incoming call 8 Listen to an external player English Redial the last called number You can use the system to amplify the audio input from an external player, for example, MP3 player. When the system receives an incoming call, the phone number or [PHONE IN] is displayed. Press to answer the call. AUDIO IN Reject an incoming call Press and hold until [END] is displayed.
9 Adjust sound The following operations are applicable to all supported media. Button Function Rotate to increase or decrease the volume level. Press to mute the speakers or release them from mute status. Press to enable or disable the maximum volume. Press and hold to enable or disable the Dynamic Bass Boost (DBB) effect. Press repeatedly to select a sound equalizer. 1 Press and hold to activate the setup of customized sound equalizer.
6 The two-way control is successfully connected. You can control the AppsControl app both by your smart phone and by car audio system. Check the Bluetooth connection status 1 Press and hold menu. 2 Press / to select [BT MODE]. »» [BT MODE PHONE NAME < HFP -A2DP -- APPS>] scrolls on the screen. • to access the system If APPS on the above strings is not displayed, the connection between the car audio system and the AppsControl application fails, please try the Bluetooth connection again.
