Machine actions Causes Solutions
The machine grinds co ee
beans but no co ee comes
out (see note)*.
The brew group is dirty. Clean the brew group (see the
"Weekly Cleaning of the Brew
Group" chapter).
This might occur when the ma-
chine is automatically adjusting
the dose.
Brew a few cups of co ee as
described in the “Saeco Adapting
System” chapter.
The co ee dispensing spout is
dirty.
Clean the co ee dispensing spout.
Co ee is too weak (see
note)*.
This might occur when the ma-
chine is automatically adjusting
the dose.
Brew a few cups of co ee as
described in the “Saeco Adapting
System” chapter.
The ceramic co ee grinder is set
to a coarse grind.
Adjust the ceramic co ee grinder
to a ner setting (see the “Adjust-
ing the Ceramic Co ee Grinder”
chapter).
Co ee is brewed slowly (see
note)*.
The co ee grind is too ne. Change co ee blend or adjust
grinding as explained in the “Adjust-
ing the Ceramic Co ee Grinder”
chapter.
The circuit is not primed. Prime the circuit (see the "Using the
Machine for the First Time" chapter).
The brew group is dirty. Clean the brew group (see the
"Weekly Cleaning of the Brew
Group" chapter).
Co ee leaks out of the co ee
dispensing spout.
The co ee dispensing spout is
clogged.
Clean the co ee dispensing spout
and its holes.
Milk does not froth. The Automatic Milk Frother is in-
serted too deep. No milk is being
suctioned.
Leave the Automatic Milk Frother to
cool down. Move it slightly down-
wards. Reposition it in its correct
seat.
Frothed milk is too cold. The cups are cold. Preheat the cups with hot water.
The machine is in demo mode.
The “ ” button was pressed and
held for more than 8 seconds.
Disconnect the power cord and turn
the machine back on.
Note:
(*)These problems can be considered normal if the co ee blend has been
changed or if the machine has just been installed. In this case, wait until
the machine performs a self-adjusting operation as described in the "Saeco
Adapting System" chapter.
