1 Important
Read this user manual carefully before you use the appliance, and save the user manual for

Danger
• Do not immerse the motor unit in water nor rinse it under the tap.
Warning

Neveruseyourngersoranobject(forexample,aspatula)topushingredientsinto
thefeedingtubewhiletheapplianceisrunning.Onlyusethepusher.
• Beforeyouconnecttheappliancetothepower,makesurethatthevoltageindicated
onthebottomoftheappliancecorrespondstothelocalpowervoltage.
• Never connect this appliance to a timer switch, to avoid a hazardous situation.
• Ifthepowercord,theplug,orotherpartsaredamaged,donotusetheappliance.
• Ifthepowercordisdamaged,youmusthaveitreplacedbyPhilips,aservicecenter
authorizedbyPhilips,orsimilarlyqualiedpersonstoavoidahazard.

Caution

Thisapplianceisequippedwithabuilt-insafetylock.Youcanonlyswitchontheappliance
afteryoucorrectlyassemblethefollowingpartsonthemotorunit:
• the food processor bowl and its lid, or
• theblenderjaranditslid,or
• the citrus press, or
• themaxijuicerbowlanditscouplingunit(HR7778only),or
• theminijuiceranditslid(HR7777only)
If these parts are assembled correctly, the built-in safety lock is unlocked.

3 Preset buttons
Note
• The preset buttons will not be functioned when control knob is set on P, OFF,orspeedsetting
(1-12).
• Ifyouturntheknobtospeedsetting(1-12)afterpressingthepresetbutton,thepresetfunctionwillbe
disabled.
• Theothertwopresetprogramscannotbeactivatedwhileonepresetprogramisrunning.
• Thepresetbuttonswillgiveyoutheoptimumspeedsettingsonly.Forbestresults,refertothe
recommendedquantityandprocessingtimeinFig.1.
• Allthepresetbuttonsareequippedwithanauto-stoptimertoprotectyourunitfromoverusage.
• Thekneadingpresetbuttonalsohasanautocooldownperiodaftereachprocessingcycle.Duringthis
period, the button will blink and the function cannot be activated.
To activate preset buttons, turn the knob to the ON position. The three preset buttons will
lightupwithpulsingeffecttoindicatethattheyarereadyforuse.
Thepresetbuttonsincludefollowingfunctions:
• :Kneadingdough.
• :Whippingorwhiskingcreamandeggwhites.
• :CrushingIce.
Tostart,pressthedesiredpresetbutton.Tostop,pressthesamebuttonagain.
4 Food processor
Warning
• Neveruseyourngersoranobject(forexample,aspatula)topushingredientsintothefeeding
tubewhiletheapplianceisrunning.Onlyusethepusher.
Blade unit
Beforeyoustart,makesurethatyouassembleaccordingtoFig.2.
Youcanusethebladeunittochop,mix,blend,orpureeingredients.Youcanalsouseitto
mixandblendcakebatters.
Note
• Alwaysputthebladeunitinthebowlbeforeyoustarttoaddtheingredients.
• Donotusethebladeunittochophardingredients,likecoffeebeans,turmeric,nutmeg,andice
cubes,asthismaycausethebladetogetblunt.
• Donotlettheapplianceruntoolongwhenyouchop(hard)cheeseorchocolate.Otherwisethese
ingredientsbecometoohot,starttomelt,andturnlumpy.
Tip
• Precutlargepiecesoffoodintopiecesofapprox.3x3x3cm.
• Whenyouchoponions,cuteachonionintofourquartersandputtheminthebowl.Turntheknob
to Pafewtimestopreventtheonionsfrombecomingtoonelychopped.
• How to remove food that sticks to the blade or to the inside of the bowl? 1. Switch off the appliance,
andthenunplugit.2.Removethelidfromthebowl.3.Removetheingredientsfromthebladeor
from the side of the bowl with a spatula.
Kneading accessory
Beforeyoustart,makesurethatyouassembleaccordingtoFig.3.
Youcanusethekneadingaccessorytokneadyeastdoughforbreadandpizzas.Youneedto
adjusttheamountofliquidtoformthedoughaccordingtothehumidityandtemperature
condition.
Note
• Donotusethekneadingaccessorytoblendcakebatters.Usethebladeunitforthisjob.
• Alwaysputthekneadingaccessoryinthebowlbeforeyouaddtheingredients.
• Turn the knob to the ONpositionandthenpressthekneadingpresetbutton tostart.Pressthe
buttonagaintostopwhenthedoughisformed.
Double balloon beater
Beforeyoustart,makesurethatyouassembleaccordingtoFig.4.
Youcanusethedoubleballoonbeatertowhiskeggwhitesformacaroonsandmeringues,
and to whip cream for desserts and cakes.
Note
• Donotusethedoubleballoonbeatertoblendcakebatterswithbutterormargarine.Usetheblade
unitforthisjob.
• Makesurethatthebowlandthedoubleballoonbeateraredryandfreefromgreasewhenyou
whiskeggwhites.
• Alwayscleanthedoubleballoonbeaterafteruse.
• Turn the knob to the ON positionandthenpressthewhipping/whiskingpresetbutton to start.
Pressthebuttonagaintostopwhenthecreamoreggwhitesarecompletelyprocessed.
Discs
Beforeyoustart,makesurethatyoupickyourdesireddiscfromfollowingandassemble
accordingtoFig.5:
• Adjustableslicingdisc
• Reversibleshreddingdisc(neandcoarse)

• Frenchfrydisc(HR7778only)

Caution
• Becarefulwhenyouhandletheslicingbladeofdisc.Ithasaverysharpcuttingedge.
• Neverusethedisctoprocesshardingredients,likeicecubes.
• Donotexerttoomuchpressureonthepusherwhenyoupressingredientsintothefeedtube.
Note
• Puttheingredientsintothefeedingtubewiththepusher.Fillthefeedingtubeevenlyforthebest
results.Whenyouhavetoprocessalargeamountofingredients,processsmallbatchesandempty
the bowl between batches.
Citrus press
Beforeyoustart,makesurethatyouassembleaccordingtoFig.6.
Youcanusethecitruspresstosqueezecitrusfruits.
Note
• Putthesieveforcitruspressontheshaftinthebowl.Makesurethattheprojectiononthesieveis
lockedintheslotofthebowlhandle.Whenthesieveisxedcorrectly,youhearaclick.
• Theconestartsrotatingduringoperation.
• Pressthecitrusfruitontothecone.Stoppressingfromtimetotimetoremovethepulpfromthe
sieve.Whenyounishpressingorwhenyouwanttoremovethepulp,turntheknobtoOFF and
remove the bowl from the appliance with the sieve and cone on it.
MiniJuicer(HR7777only)
Beforeyoustart,makesurethatyouassembleaccordingtoFig.7.
Youcanusetheminijuicertojuicesmallportionsoffruitsandvegetablessuchascarrots,
apples,watermelon,andgrapes.
Caution
• Donotexerttoomuchpressureonthepusherwhenyoupressingredientsintothefeedtube.
• Donotllthebowlbeyondthemaximumindication.
• Theminijuicermaybecomediscoloredwhenprocessingingredientslikecarrotsandbeetroot.
Note
• Beforeprocessingingredients,removeallseedsandpipsfromplums,apricots,peaches,andcherries,
removealltoughskinsfrompineapples,melonsetc.
• Forcitrusfruitssuchasoranges,lemonsandgrapefruit,itisrecommendedtousethecitruspressto
extractfreshcitrusjuice.
• Afteruse,turnthepulpremoveranticlockwisetounlock.Liftoutfromthelterdrumtoremove
excesspulpforeasycleaning.
5 MaxiJuicer(HR7778only)
Beforeyoustart,makesurethatyouassembleaccordingtoFig.8.
Youcanusethemaxijuicertojuiceupto1.5kgoffruitsandvegetablessuchascarrots,
apples,watermelon,pear,grapes,andpineapple.
Caution
• Neverinsertyourhandoranotherobject(e.g.afork,knife,spoon,orspatula)intothefeedingtube.
Onlyusethepushersuppliedwiththeapplianceforthispurpose.
• Waituntilthesievehascompletelystoppedrotatingbeforeyouremovethelid.
Note
• Alwayscheckthesievebeforeuse.Donotusethejuicerifyounoticeanydamagelikecracks,crazes,
oraloosegratingdisc.
• Beforeprocessingingredients,removeallseedsandpipsfromplums,apricots,peachesandcherries,
removealltoughskinsfrompineapples,melonsetc.
• Whenyouclampthelidonthejuicerbowlcorrectly,youhearaclick.
6 Blender
Beforeyoustart,makesurethatyouassembleaccordingtoFig.9.
The blender is intended for:
•
Blendinguids,likedairyproducts,sauces,fruitjuices,soups,mixeddrinks,andshakes.
• Mixingsoftingredients,likepancakebatter.
• Pureeingcookedingredients,likebabyfood.
• Crushingice.
Note
• Donotexerttoomuchpressureonthehandleoftheblenderjar.
• Neveropenthelidtoputyourhandoranyobjectinthejarwhiletheblenderisrunning.
• Alwaysassemblethesealingringontothebladeunitbeforeyouattachthebladeunittothe
blenderjar.
• Toaddliquidingredientsduringprocessing,pourthemintotheblenderjarthroughthefeedinghole.
• Precutsolidingredientsintosmallpiecesbeforeyouprocessthem.
• Ifyouwanttopreparealargequantity,processsmallbatchesofingredientsinsteadofalarge
quantityatonce.
• Toavoidspillage:Whenyouprocessaliquidthatishotortendstofoam(forexample,milk),donot
putmorethan1literofliquidintheblenderjar.
• Ifyouarenotsatisedwiththeresult,switchofftheapplianceandstirtheingredientswithaspatula.
Removesomeofthecontentstoprocessasmallerquantityoraddsomeliquid.
• Puttheingredientsintheblenderjarwithinthemaximumlevelindication.
• To crush ice, turn the knob to the ON position and then press the ice preset button Pressthe
buttonagaintostop.
7 Cleaning
Warning
• Beforeyoucleantheappliance,unplugit.
Caution
• Makesurethatthecuttingedgesofthebladesanddiscsdonotcomeintocontactwithhardobjects.
Thismaycausethebladetogetblunt.
• Thecuttingedgesaresharp.Becarefulwhenyoucleanthebladeunitofthefoodprocessor,the
blade unit of the blender and the discs.
1 Cleanthemotorunitwithamoistcloth.
2 Cleantheotherpartsinhotwater(<60ºC)withsomewashing-upliquidorina
dishwasher.
