How to connect a plug The wires in the power cord are colored as follows: blue = neutral (N), brown = live (L). If the colors do not correspond with the colors on your plug, identify the terminals in your plug as follows: 1 Connect the blue wire to the terminal marked N or colored black. 2 Connect the brown wire to the terminal marked L or colored red.
