2.4.4 Safety outputs
Designation: FO1A, FO1B
The OSSD outputs FO1A and FO1B are used for safely switching off the output circuit.
The actuator moves away from the sensor when the safety equipment is opened. The actu-
ator approaches the sensor when the safety equipment is closed.
Switching on When the actuator has reached the switch-on distance, power is supplied via the sensor,
and data transmission starts.
If the sensor detects a permissible coding, the safety outputs are switched on depending on
the selected startup behavior.
Safe switching off If the actuator leaves the response area of the sensor, the safety outputs are switched in a
safety-related manner.
See Section “Switching states of the outputs” on page 19.
Test pulses The safety outputs generate test pulses:
When switched on
When switched off during device start
Downstream devices must tolerate these test pulses.
See “Times” in Section “Technical data” on page 57.
See Section “Interface types according to ZVEI classification” on page 62.
2.4.5 Signal output/diagnostic output
Designation: DGN
Non-safety-related The signal output is switched on as soon as the actuator has left the response area of the
sensor. The information is non-safety-related. The information is used for evaluating the
position of safety equipment, for example.
See Section “Switching states of the outputs” on page 19.
Observe the corresponding switching distances according to the actuation position and
travel direction.
See Section “Mounting” on page 26 and Section “Technical data for the actuator” on
page 60.
