1.3 Field of application of the product
PSR-CT safety switches are suitable for use in applications for contact-free detection of
secure positions of doors, flaps, or moving parts of a machine, for example.
1.3.1 Intended use
Safety function As locking devices without guard locking device, PSR-CT safety switches perform the fol-
lowing safety functions:
Monitoring the position of movable guards
Secure position monitoring on machines
Combined with a movable guard and the machine control system, the safety switch prevents
a dangerous machine function from being executed as long as the guard is open. A stop
command is triggered when the guard is opened during hazardous machine operation.
For intended use, comply with the requirements for installation and operation, in particular
according to the following standards:
EN ISO 13849-1, Safety-related parts of control systems
EN ISO 14119, Interlocking devices associated with guards
EN 60204-1, Electrical equipment of machines
Fulfilled requirements and
safety integrity
Depending on the conditions of use, the safety switch meets the following requirements and
safety integrity features:
Design 4 according to EN ISO 14119
Requirements according to EN 60947-5-3
Suitable up to category 4, PL e (EN ISO 13849-1), SIL 3 (IEC 61508)

ronmental conditions
Only use the device according to the defined technical data and environmental conditions.
