OBSERVER function OBSERVER is a wireless baby alarm and pager and one of the PUZZLE system’s alerting transmitters. OBSERVER detects when a baby cries, then activates a red light on top of the unit and sends an alarm signal wirelessly to the PUZZLE system’s receivers. There is also a button on top of the unit that lets you use OBSERVER as a pager. OBSERVER sends one alarm pattern when the baby cries and a different alarm pattern when used as a pager.

OBSERVER instructions 1 OBSERVER installation OBSERVER should be placed as near as possible to the baby without being within reach. NOTE: OBSERVER should not be exposed to wet or damp conditions.
OBSERVER instructions OBSERVER is switched on by sliding the switch on the top of the unit from left to right. To turn it off, slide the switch from right to left.
OBSERVER instructions 3 selecting alarm patterns If you have two OBSERVER units and wish to distinguish between the signals sent from each unit, the positions of the switches must be opposite. If you have one or more DETECT alerting transmitters the selection of alarm patterns must be different for all DETECT and OBSERVER alerting transmitters.
OBSERVER instructions The personal code can be selected using the tuner in the unit’s battery chamber. (See 6a for instructions on removing battery compartment door). NOTE: The PUZZLE system’s different alerting transmitters and receivers should be set to the same personal code.
OBSERVER instructions 5a setting microphone sensitivity 1 2 When receiving false alarms, turn the control one step toward 0. 1 2 9 Turn the microphone sensitivity control, on top of unit up to 8 (maximum sensitivity). Repeat the above procedure until you only receive alarms when the baby is crying.
OBSERVER instructions NOTE: Sensitivity should be adjusted as low as possible to minimize the possibility of false alarms. When red light on top of the unit lights, OBSERVER has detected a signal and is transmitting a signal.
OBSERVER instructions 6a changing batteries Hold OBSERVER in both hands with back facing up and top facing toward you. Press down on the marked areas with your thumbs and push the top away from yourself. NOTE: OBSERVER sends a signal to the PUZZLE system’s receivers when the batteries need to be changed.
OBSERVER instructions - + + - - + Insert new batteries, being careful to orient the batteries correctly according to the plus and minus symbols in battery chamber. NOTE: Use three IEC LR1 penlight 1,5V batteries. The batteries should be removed if OBSERVER is not used for an extended period of time.
